The car is out of power - three steps to easily get back on

author:Leshan Zhongrui Qiu Feikai

Batteries, commonly known as "batteries", are important components on cars. Its role: when starting the car, it is responsible for powering the starting system and ignition system of the car; when the generator is overloaded, assist the generator to supply power to the electrical equipment; when the generator fails or the charging system fails, it supplies power to the electrical equipment and temporarily maintains the normal operation of the car; when the generator output voltage is higher than the battery voltage, charging the battery will convert a part of the electrical energy into chemical energy and store it. Actually the battery has such a big effect! So how do we tell if it's "healthy"? Here are 3 ways to introduce you!

1. The precursor before the battery fails

If it is difficult to start the car usually, or the car cannot be started for a long time, it is also a symptom of the battery being scrapped quickly, because this phenomenon means that the battery has been unable to supply current to the engine, and at this time, a battery can solve the problem of starting difficulties.

Because the battery discharge capacity becomes weaker, the starter runs poorly and squeaks, this situation is more obvious at low temperatures, because the weather is cold, the activity of the battery will also be reduced, and after the weather warms up, such a situation will improve or disappear, so many car owners do not care.

2. Visual inspection

Observe whether there is a drum bag phenomenon in the appearance of the battery, if the drum bag may be due to battery power loss or charging system failure caused by the battery overcharge, resulting in damage. Observe whether there is a "leak" in the positive and negative poles of the battery, which needs to be tested with PH dipsticks, which is acidic after the test, indicating that the battery is leaking electrolyte, otherwise it is not a leak, it may be butter or the like.

2. Static voltage measurement method

Measure the voltage when the battery is open with a multimeter or battery detector, and if the quiescent voltage of the battery is lower than 11.6V, it needs to be replaced.

Please note:

(1) If the engine has run before measuring the voltage, it should be stored for measurement after 12 hours, or turn off all electrical equipment, only turn on the headlights 5-10S, and then remove the ignition key, turn off all electrical equipment and then test.

(2) The battery should be stored stationary for 24 hours after refueling.

3. Use battery detector to detect life

The battery life is judged by detecting the battery resistance, cold start current (CCA), starting load voltage, etc. by the battery detector.

Warm tips: equipped with maintenance-free batteries, the specifications of the new battery must be the same as the original battery specifications when replacing, it is recommended to replace the battery at Chery sales service provider.

Battery maintenance tips:

1. Keep the outside of the battery clean, and often remove the dust and dirt on the battery cover, which helps to prevent self-discharge. 2. Before driving, pay attention to check whether the battery cable is reliably connected. 3. If the charging system indicator light is lit during the driving process, please go to Chery sales service provider for maintenance as soon as possible. 4. When the engine is not running, do not use spare power sockets and electrical appliances for a long time. 5. Before parking the car and leaving, please turn off the electrical appliances and headlights in the car. 6, the car has not been opened for a long time, the battery will have a self-discharge process. It is recommended that the negative pole line of the battery can be unplugged to ensure the performance of the battery in good condition to ensure that the vehicle is parked safely. Or try to start the car every 3 to 5 days for more than 20 to 30 minutes.
