Tech Soft 3D, a leading supplier of engineering software development kits (SDKs), today announced the release of the HOOPS 2022 SDK. HOOPS technology supports world-class engineering applications around the world and across multiple industries.

Enhancements to the HOOPS 2022 toolkit primarily include providing powerful animation, data access and exchange, simulation and rendering capabilities to help Tech Soft 3D partners stay competitive in the industry by developing cutting-edge applications with proven 3D technology.

With the HOOPS SDK, developers can reduce product development costs and bring desktop, web, mobile, and AR/VR applications to market faster.

"Technology continues to evolve rapidly, and our team is committed to providing our partners with the most advanced, powerful, and high-performance component technology to help them quickly and easily create the applications they need," said Eric Vinchon, vice president at Tech Soft 3D Partners. "Staying ahead of trends and getting to market faster than our competitors is a key strength for our partners, and Tech Soft 3D is a best-in-class 3D graphics, CAD data transformation, and 3D data publishing engine that will enable our partners to deliver applications."

HOOPS Visualize 2022 now supports physically based rendering (PBR) on mobile platforms, producing realistic graphics by simulating light behavior in the real world.

Enhancements include:

Support for Apple Silicon: Apple's recent move from Intel-based chips to a new ARM-based architecture requires partners to leverage their applications in order to provide the best experience for users. We now offer an official version of the HOOPS toolkit to enable this process.

Animation Manager: New animation features, including the new Animation Manager, are primarily designed to meet a variety of engineering animation needs, from BIM 5D simulation to digital factory animation and work instruction authoring.

Physically Based Rendering (PBR): PBR has been added to HOOPS Communicator to provide higher quality rendering for web applications and is now also available for HOOPS Visualize for mobile platforms.

Spatial relationships: Supports Spatial Relationships as part of the Industry Foundation Class (IFC) model definition, the ability to navigate within the model, query the model in the context of Quantity Takeoff (QTO), and so on.

Enhancements to the SDK include:

HOOPS Exchange

  • Native CAD and standard format support for Inventor 2022, ACIS 2021 1.0, and Parasolid 34.0.
  • Access to CATIA V5 files can help optimize workflows for applications such as manufacturing simulations, robotics, kinematic analysis, and more.

HOOPS Visualize

  • A new deletion mechanism that can delete the front, help users see internal objects, and display the results of the analysis.
  • Android AR Sandbox app updates, including updating the ARCore SDK, using ARCore to match 3D lighting to ambient lighting (as seen by the camera), and adding a wider range of models.
  • Supports assembly-level functionality across different piecemeal workflows, allowing users to view all parts or architectural or mechanical assemblies at once and easily switch versions/revisions of individual parts or subassemblies without having to re-transform or process an entire set of 3D objects.
  • Supports the generation of multiple output SC files for each body affected by assembly-level features, enabling correct assembly conversion.
  • New rendering modes (sketch mode and concept mode) based on standard AEC application interactions enable users to familiarize themselves with the environment they are accustomed to in their AEC workflow.

HOOPS Publish

  • Improved HTML export for quality and fidelity of 3D PDFs.
  • The HOOPS SDK is also available through HOPS Native and HOPS Web Platforms. The HOOPS platform combines market-leading 3D technologies for CAD data conversion, visualization, and data publishing, while being tightly connected to the popular modeling kernel. With a single license fee, these products are the most cost-effective way to leverage the full range of HOOPS capabilities in existing applications and future developments.
  • Developers interested in evaluating the HOOPS SDK can sign up for a free 60-day assessment. Users can now interact with demos, videos, download free evaluations, browse tutorials, read partner success stories, and browse updated documentation.
