The "land scavengers" returned to ploughing the wasteland

author:Shangguan News

Five-nine-six-nine, along the river to see the willows. In Longfeng Village, Baishi Town, Guang'an District, Guang'an City, Sichuan Province, new branches emerge from willows and birds blow the horns of early spring. On a wasteland surrounded by new greenery, 5 rotary cultivators "boomed" to ignite the engine, officially opening the curtain of spring plowing.

"Don't underestimate these barren fields, in the autumn, they will be full of golden rice." Yuan Bojuan, the "land scavenger", pointed to the place where the rotary cultivator had just been opened, the barren grass was buried deep below 1.2 meters, and the new soil that was turned over emitted a fragrant fragrance.

What is a "land scavenger"? It is those who can turn the barren land into a fertile field. Yuan Bojuan, 48 years old, was born, grew up, and started a business in the countryside, and has become famous in this line of work.

Yuan Bojuan and her husband, Li Xiangyu, run a professional cooperative of agricultural machinery and agronomy in the local area, and they purchased a batch of rotary cultivators to provide arable land services for owners of large agricultural bases and family farms.

"I can't see the good farmland and the grass." In 2016, Yuan Bojuan found in Daishi Town, Qianfeng District, Guang'an City, that a large number of people went out to work, and more than 40% of the land was abandoned, so she consulted with farmers on whether to reclaim it and grow grain. Some villagers questioned: "This field has been abandoned for more than ten years, and now that it has been turned over and replanted, what harvest can there be?" More villagers feel that it is cost-effective: "As long as you are willing to help us open up the wasteland, we will give you free farming this year." ”

Yuan Bojuan believes that with modern agricultural technology, it is not difficult to turn barren land into fertile land. There are rotary cultivators to cultivate deeply, and the barren grass is buried deep in the soil as fertilizer. Spring and autumn came, and when the golden crops covered the fields, the villagers gave a thumbs up. In addition to the cost of land reclamation, seeds, fertilizers, management, harvesting and other links, there is a profit of about 100 yuan per mu of rice.

Yuan Bojuan's "scavenging" model attracted the attention of the party committee and government of Baishi Town, and after studying, they decided: Invite Yuan Bojuan to cultivate land in the whole town.

On the 25th of this year, most of the migrant workers have returned to their hometowns. A villagers' meeting was held in Longfeng Village, Baishi Town, and only one topic was discussed: Should the wasteland in the village be given to Yuan Bojuan for planting?

Before the meeting began, the villagers began to talk about you and me--"Why do we give her our land for free?" "The large rotary cultivator came in and destroyed the original boundary of our fields, and in the future we will be able to distinguish which field is whose field it is!" "It's okay to plant her, it's better than being desolate all the time." ......

"Folks, be quiet!" Su Minghua, secretary of the town party committee, opened his throat, "Yuan Bojuan came to open up the wasteland to cultivate land, there is a higher cost, the first two years do not pay the land circulation fee, but from the third year onwards, everyone can collect the land circulation fund according to the market price, and can also recover the land for their own cultivation, but they can no longer save the land." ”

After listening to these words, everyone began to discuss again. "This model is still OK, she planted for two years after opening the wilderness, the wasteland matured, and it was cost-effective for us to take it back and plant it." "When the land is cultivated, the harvest in the first two years is not much better, and it is understandable not to give land circulation funds." ......

In the end, 28 of the 32 villagers who attended the meeting that day decided to give the wasteland to Yuan Bojuan for farming. At present, more than 200 farmers in the town have voluntarily signed a contract to hand over a total of more than 2,000 mu of barren land to Yuan Bojuan for reclamation.

Driven by Yuan Bojuan, many people in Baishi Town also joined the ranks of "scavenging". Zhou Qi of Xiema Village opened up more than 30 acres of land, and Xu Yongding of Shipan Village opened up more than 40 acres... They have a common desire: not to let the fields go down again.

There is still a period of time before the season of "nine nine plus nine, ploughing cattle everywhere", and the land of Guang'an has long been busy. In the wasteland of Longfeng Village, the rotary cultivator rumbled and opened, turning up pieces of new hope.
