According to Taiwan media reports, the well-known screenwriter Zhang Yongxiang recently died at the age of 92 at his home in the United States due to illness.

Zhang Yongxiang wrote more than 120 screenplays in his lifetime, and is also one of the most awarded screenwriters in the history of the Golden Horse Awards, winning the 10th, 12th, 15th, 16th and 18th Golden Horse Awards for "Returning the Pearl of the King", "My Land and My People" (1975), "A Boat in the Ocean" (1978), "Story of a Small Town" (1979), and "If I Am True" (1981).

In 2016, he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 53rd Golden Horse Awards, the first screenwriter to receive the award.
