London, February 10 (Xinhua) -- The British royal family issued a statement on the 10th that Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, tested positive for the new crown virus and is self-isolating. This is the second time since March 2020 that Charles has been confirmed to be infected with the new crown virus.

The statement, posted through Clarence Palace social media accounts, said Charles received test results that morning and had to postpone the day's royal official duties.

British media quoted royal sources as reporting that Charles has received three doses of the new crown vaccine and his wife Camilla has tested negative for the new crown virus.

British media reported that Charles and his wife attended a reception held at the British Museum on the evening of the 9th, and the participants included some government officials.

Charles, 73, was infected with the coronavirus in March 2020 and had milder symptoms.

According to the current epidemic prevention regulations in the United Kingdom, all people in England who test positive for the new crown virus must self-isolate for at least 5 days. However, British Prime Minister Johnson said in the lower house of parliament on the 9th that it plans to end all remaining epidemic prevention restrictions in England in late February, including the provision that infected people must self-isolate.
