Line 6 (Lindai West to Huaqiao University section and Zhangzhou Jiaomei extension section): 29 kilometers long, with 20 stations, is a key project for the coordinated development of southwest Fujian. In accordance with the principle of "unified planning, coordinated construction, and Xiamen operation" of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Xiamen section (Lindai West to Huaqiao University Station) and the Zhangzhou section (Jiaomei extension) have started simultaneously at the end of December 2019 and are scheduled to be completed in 2025.
