James was exposed as the general manager behind the Lakers, and all transactions had to be made through his nod

It's no secret that LeBron James played an important role behind the scenes of the Los Angeles Lakers, especially when it comes to the team's roster decisions. Now that the trade deadline is fast approaching, it sounds like James is more focused than usual on the Lakers' trading operations.

Sources said James did not force himself into management. In fact, according to ESPN reporter Dave McMenamin, the team's general manager, Pelinka, continues to delay trade negotiations, or at least listen more to James in the process of adjusting the Lakers' roster:

Sources told ESPN that James, who was involved in the Los Angeles Lakers' roster building in the offseason, consulted with Lakers vice president and general manager of basketball operations Rob Pelinka about everything from Westbrook's deal with the Washington Wizards and to signing free agents. Sources told ESPN that Pelinka will continue to work with James before the deadline to try to improve the Lakers' chances of greater success this season.

There is no doubt that James plays an important role in the team's decision-making process. However, James reportedly had an opinion on the Lakers on "everything," a testament to the fact that he has a lot of influence over management.

The Lakers are now in a hurry to complete a deal within 24 hours of the deadline, and they have already negotiated deals with multiple teams. But in fact, the Lakers didn't achieve anything. Whatever the case may be, you can be sure that James is working on the current trade and nod to him, no deal will be approved.
