At that time, the Red Army was forced by the situation to embark on the Long March, but it did not expect to lose more than half of the Xiangjiang River in the First Battle, and if it were not for the Zunyi Conference to determine the chairman's military leadership position, then the Central Red Army would be in danger. However, compared with them, the situation of the Red Army left behind in the Soviet zone was more difficult, but those who could survive in the dangerous environment were all revolutionary elites with ten hundred.

For example, Su Yu, who fought guerrilla warfare in the Fujian and Zhejiang regions, Gao Jingting, who fought three times the commander of the 100,000-strong army, and Xiang Ying and Chen Yi, who insisted on fighting guerrilla warfare for three years, all became the main generals of the New Fourth Army in the future, and those who could survive until the founding of the country could at least be awarded the title of general. In 55 years, there were four senior generals in the New Fourth Army who rubbed shoulders with the rank of great general, in fact, in addition to them, there was also one person who was qualified as a general, and the ranking was still in front of them, this person was Teng Daiyuan.

Embark on the road to revolution

Teng Daiyuan, a native of Mayang, Hunan, was born in 1904 to an ordinary peasant family. The father is industrious and capable, the mother is a good family, and although the life is not rich and noble, it is not a little better than the neighbors. The family did not have to go hungry and frozen, and there was spare money for Teng Daiyuan to study.

At the age of 17, according to the customs of that year, the family found him a family affair, and after a year of starting a family, although Teng Daiyuan became a father, his heart was not bound by the family. In 1923, Teng Daiyuan applied for the Changde Provincial Normal School, and after leaving home to study, he never returned, because at this time he was already engaged in the vigorous revolutionary cause.

After the establishment of the Changde Special Branch in 1925, Huang Shuyi, the secretary of the branch, converted several comrades with regimental age and outstanding performance into party members, including Teng Daiyuan. Ironically, Huang Shuyi was later arrested and betrayed, deviating from his original beliefs, and he carefully selected Teng Daiyuan, who single-handedly brought out, but he always insisted on walking on the revolutionary road and became a founding hero with great merit.

Later, Teng Daiyuan was expelled from the party by the Provincial Department of Education for leading the student movement, which was a good thing for him, no longer bound by his studies, fully devoted to the revolutionary struggle, in early 1927 he was elected chairman of the Hunan Provincial Agricultural Cooperative, when the chairman came to Hunan to inspect the peasant movement, it was Teng Daiyuan personally received and assisted the chairman to go to various places to investigate, and the two established a deep revolutionary friendship during this period.

Partnered with Mr. Peng for many years

After Guo Liang's death in 1928, Teng Daiyuan was ordered to take over the post of secretary of the Xiang'e Border Special Committee, and he took on this heavy responsibility, in addition to Teng Daiyuan's superior work ability, there was also a point, before he spent a period of time in Pingjiang, this time he was asked to go to Pingjiang first to assist Peng Lao's headquarters to launch an uprising.

Under the leadership of Mr. Peng, Deng Ping, Huang Gongluo and others, the uprising was victorious. After the uprising, Teng Daiyuan announced the establishment of the Fifth Red Army as a commissioner of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee, with Mr. Peng as the commander and he as the party representative, and the two became partners from revolutionary comrades.

During the period from the Pingjiang Uprising to the fifth anti-"encirclement and suppression" in the Central Soviet Region, the two have always been partners, and they have a very tacit understanding of mutual cooperation, and they could have continued to cooperate. It was only at that time, in view of the military situation at that time, that Teng Daiyuan put forward an opinion to the central authorities, which was not only not adopted, but also dismissed from the post of political commissar of the Fifth Red Army, and the good partners were separated.

High wind bright festival

On the eve of the Long March, Teng Daiyuan was sent to the Soviet Union to attend the Seventh Congress of the Communist International, and did not return to the motherland from Xinjiang until the end of 1936, but it was already after the outbreak of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in Yan'an, and soon after his return, he was appointed chief of staff of the Central Military Commission, with a very high status, and his military resume obviously exceeded that of most founding generals, and even approached some marshals.

After eight years of war of resistance, when the long-lost peace was finally ushered in, and the people of the whole country were celebrating the time of peace, the Chiang government provoked a civil war and once again pulled the Central Plains into the abyss of war. In this situation, the Jin-Hebei Luyu Military Region was established, and Teng Daiyuan served as the first deputy commander of the military region to assist Liu Shuai and Deng Gong in their work.

Fast forward to 1949, the domestic situation has been very clear, the central leadership at this time also began to consider the things after the liberation of the whole country, should mention the need to make some plans, such as the need for railway construction, after careful consideration, the heavy responsibility was handed over to Teng Daiyuan, on January 10, he was appointed as the minister of railways of the Central Military Commission, when he put forward a slogan "Where the Platon Army hits, the railway will be repaired."

Later, in order to better manage the railway construction in a unified way, the Railway Corps was established, and the commander of the corps was also Teng Daiyuan. He did this for 16 years, and it was not until 1965 that he stepped down from the ministerial post, but by this time he had been elected vice chairman of the CPPCC and became a vice-state leader. He was succeeded by the founding general Lu Zhengcao.

Minister Lu was shocked in the special years, when Teng Daiyuan stood up: "I have led the Ministry of Railways for so many years, and there are problems here, and I should also take responsibility."

As an old revolutionary with seniority, merit, and responsibility, he will not do anything against his conscience. As early as 59 years, when Mr. Peng was framed and criticized, many people said a lot of bad things about him in order to clear up their relations with Mr. Peng, including Teng Daiyuan. Later, when discussing the issue of Mr. Peng in groups, Teng Daiyuan, who knew the old partner very well, never spoke, and even if someone tried to "guide" him, he would not say anything. In view of Elder Teng's qualifications, others could not do anything about him in the end.

It is precisely because there are many selfless and selfless people like Elder Teng who are willing to dedicate their lives to the cause of revolutionary development and liberation that they can wait for the final victory of the revolution.

On November 30, 1974, Teng Lao died of illness, and before he died, he could not speak, trembling and writing two words "service" in the hands of Mrs. Lin.
