Recently, FF announced that a special committee composed of the company's independent board of directors has completed an investigation into the previous inaccurate allegations of short selling of J Capital Research.
The Special Commission's 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) shows that there are certain inconsistencies with the facts in the information released by the company's investors, as well as weaknesses in corporate governance and compliance, but there is no evidence to support the other issues mentioned in J Capital Research's short-selling report.
On February 9, the relevant person in charge of FF said in an interview with the media:
"The reservation form issued by the company includes two types of paid bookings and free bookings, of which the company collects more than 14,000 FF 91 bookings, which has the information of all booking users, and this part is free booking data; and the company's public announcement of the global 300 invitation system limited edition FF 91, this part is a paid booking form."
The relevant person in charge of the above-mentioned FF also said: "At present, after investigation by a special committee of independent directors, it is believed that the 14,000 bookings previously announced by the company may be misleading, but it is not false information. ”
Previously, J Capital Research, a U.S. short-selling agency, released a report calling Faraday Future an "emerging electric car scam" that would never sell a car.
Subsequently, Faraday's independent director special committee reviewed the group's business, and the investigation found that FF had previously announced that FF91 had more than 14,000 orders, but only a few hundred vehicles had been paid, FF was accused of false publicity, and netizens ridiculed Jia Yueting for being "cracked down on counterfeiting" in the United States.
However, Faraday FF expressed its position with a free order to deal with the "crackdown", and it will take time to verify whether it can successfully cope with investors' doubts.
In addition, FF's first model, the FF91, has not yet been listed, but its price has been exposed, and the car is priced at 2 million yuan and 200,000 US dollars in China and the United States, respectively.
