On February 1, 2022, Daimler AG, the parent company of Mercedes-Benz, announced on its official website that it had officially changed its name to Mercedes-Benz Group AG. The main purpose of the name change is to convey to the public that the company will continue to focus on the automotive business in the future, and will focus on several sub-brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Maybach, Mercedes-EQ and so on.

In addition, Daimler Greater China Investment Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Daimler Group in China, will also synchronize the company's new name, and the relevant procedures are currently being approved, and it is expected to be officially renamed in the second half of 2022.
At the same time as the name change, the stock exchange code of Mercedes-Benz Group AG will also be changed from DAI to MBG, but the company's shareholder composition will not change as a result, and Mercedes-Benz Group AG will continue to be listed on the DAX of the Frankfurt stock market in Germany.
In addition, Daimler Mobility AG, a subsidiary of the former Daimler AG, will also be renamed Mercedes-Benz Group Mobility AG. In the future, the company will continue to provide financial, leasing and insurance businesses in the passenger car and commercial vehicle sectors.
