Moscow, February 6 (Xinhua) -- Title: You are a miracle -- the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics

Author Wu Hao

On February 4, 2022, Beijing's night sky was once again lit up by brilliant fireworks, and the gorgeous music of "Together to the Future" was played in the National Stadium.

In the warm-up session, the theme song of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, "Me and You", was like the afterglow of the 14 years apart, sharing the joy of Beijing becoming the first "double Olympic city" in the history of the World Olympic Games with guests from 90 countries and regions. At the beginning of the opening, the green grass of the dancing style and the words "Lichun" flashed in the fireworks spread the joy of the Spring Festival of the Chinese Nation's Year of the Tiger and the good news of the spring return to the earth to the north and south of the world; the five-star red flag and the trumpeter "My Motherland and Me" played by the trumpeters in the middle of the queue composed of representatives of 56 nationalities and all walks of life transmitted the voice of the Chinese people at home and abroad.

The opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics intoxicated me and made me proud. Because the Beijing Winter Olympics itself was held, it is a miracle created by the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the Chinese dream. Relying on the miracle of this "City of The Two Olympics", a series of miracles have been extended.

The scenery in front of me and the songs in my ears made me, who had the honor of being a guest of honor at the opening ceremony of the Beijing Double Olympic Games, and my mind jumped between the two opening ceremonies. The difference between the two is that the Beijing Summer Olympics will focus on the 5,000-year history of China's civilization to the world; the Beijing Winter Olympics 14 years later, the focus of the story is on the vibrant today when the Chinese dream is now in progress and the beautiful tomorrow of the "community of human destiny".

My main concerns about the Beijing Double Olympics are also different. It can be summed up in two words, one is hope, the other is urgent.

For the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, I was looking forward to it. In 2001, I was studying for a doctorate at the Gorky Academy of Literature in Russia, and I worked hard to be a good volunteer for Beijing's Olympic bid. On the carnival night of Beijing's successful bid for the Olympic Games, I had my own dream: if I could be in the Beijing Olympics after 7 years, even if I only enjoyed a moment of intoxication in Beijing, it would be a great blessing in my life! Unexpectedly, my dream came true: I received an invitation to return to China to attend the opening ceremony. I was ecstatic and wrote an immersive look and feel under the title of "It Wasn't a Dream.".

For the Beijing Winter Olympics, the first few years I watched the more excited I became: in June 2018, I visited the former site of Shougang, which has become the seat of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games Organizing Committee, and marveled at the miracle of its abandonment into treasure; in October 2019, I made a special trip to Zhangjiakou to marvel at its hot construction site. But at the beginning of 2020, a sudden new crown pneumonia epidemic disrupted the rhythm of the world. Opening such a large-scale sports event, the import pressure of viruses such as foreign personnel and cold chain transmission is almost inevitable, and seeing the Postponement of the Tokyo Olympic Games, I am anxious and anxious about whether the Beijing Winter Olympics can be held as scheduled and successfully. In the face of severe challenges, the preparations for the Winter Olympics were carried out in an orderly manner according to planning and planning, ushering in the beijing Winter Olympics as scheduled, injecting confidence into the Olympic Movement and dispelling my unfounded anxieties.

As Bach said: "Despite the impact of the epidemic, the preparations for the Winter Olympics are progressing very smoothly, which is almost a miracle!" "You see, the builders of the National Bobsleigh Center started from scratch and independently built the world's first 360-degree slalom track, breaking the monopoly of the concrete blasting process abroad; you see, in the National Speed Skating Hall "Ice Ribbon", the designer woven the world's largest span of saddle-shaped "Sky Curtain", 3360 pieces of curved glass, roof and curtain wall cables are all made in China; you see, the Beijing Winter Olympics for the first time in the history of the Olympic Games to achieve full coverage of the venue's green electricity, "ice ribbon" For the first time, ice-making technology with carbon emissions approaching zero was adopted, and the National Aquatics Center became the first venue in the world to complete the "water ice conversion"... All of this is a microcosm of China's miracle of continued writing.

The participating teams entered, the national costumes were all in various forms and beautiful, and the most beautiful thing was the Chinese delegation that was red-hot and joyful. Compared with the 65 athletes sent to the Sochi Winter Olympics, the lineup of the Chinese team is undoubtedly huge. At that time, about one-third of the 109 minor events in the mainland had never been carried out, and this time as the host, it won 104 small events and 194 seats to participate. Behind this historic breakthrough, what is even more commendable is china's early realization of the Winter Olympics covenant - the miracle of bringing 300 million people to participate in the promise of ice and snow sports.

As a compatriot in Russia, I naturally noticed the Russian Olympic delegation with more than 460 members and Russian President Vladimir Putin attending the opening ceremony. Since 2013, under the leadership of the two heads of state, China-Russia relations have been at the best level in history, and Russia's move is undoubtedly the most specific and clear annotation of this best level in the special period. 2022 is the opening year of the Sino-Russian Sports Exchange Year, and I believe that taking the Winter Olympics as an opportunity will surely make sports exchanges a bridge to enhance the friendship between the two peoples.

The opening ceremony has come to an end, and the perfect fusion of digital technology and aesthetic innovation has fascinated me and made me reluctant to leave my seat for a long time. Sports is the symbol of a strong country, a symbol of national cohesion, and a symbol of strength. From "one world, one dream" to "together to the future", from "Green Olympics, Science and Technology Olympics, Humanistic Olympics" to "Green, Sharing, Openness, Integrity", what has changed is the sentence, and what has not changed is the Spirit of the Chinese Nation forging ahead and the feelings of the world! The wonderful Chinese story is being shown to the world through the window of Beijing and the stage of the Winter Olympics. Beijing will show the world again and again the determination of "Ren'er's east, west, south, and north winds", and prove again and again: China, you are a miracle! (End)
