Recently, Aston Martin, the top luxury supercar brand in the United Kingdom, revealed that from 2026, it will only sell electric or hybrid vehicles.

Another one? Aston Martin will only sell electrified models from 2026

However, Aston Martin President Lawrence Stroll believes that not all Aston Martin customers want to drive electric cars, so Aston Martin will continue to produce V-12 models until 2026 or 2027.

"People still want to feel the smell and noise of an internal combustion engine model. We will gradually want to fully electrify the transition... But if someone wants to use an internal combustion engine in 2028, we will also meet the demand," said Lawrence Stroul when introducing the DBX707, which claims to be the "world's most powerful SUV.".

Referring to discontinuing the V-12 model by 2026 or 2027, Aston Martin CEO Tobias Moers said: "All V-12 model life cycles will end in 2026-2027, a timeline that corresponds to Europe's strict emissions standards" and "We will not redesign the V-12 model to do that".

For other luxury brands that produce V-12 models, it is also necessary to prepare for the production of the near future – BMW is vigorously promoting the ultimate M760Li sedan. Overall, though, Aston Martin won't be the last automaker to produce the V-12: Lamborghini has confirmed that an alternative to the Aventador will launch a hybrid, naturally aspirated V-12 version that will last until the 2030s.
