IT House On February 6, Xinhua News Agency quoted Saudi Arabia's official news agency as saying that the Saudi Digital Academy has signed a memorandum of understanding with Huawei on cultivating local talents.

The agreement, signed by Mohammed Al-Suhaim, CEO of the Saudi Digital Academy, and Steven Liu, Huawei's Deputy CEO of Technology Investment in Saudi Arabia, during the international technology conference LEAP, aims to promote the kingdom's digital transformation to achieve Saudi Vision 2030.

IT House understands that through Huawei's certified ICT and communication certificate program, Saudi Arabia expects to train about 8,000 Saudi talents who will specialize in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, network security, and 5G network use.

In the coming years, the two sides will also jointly organize the annual Huawei Middle East Information Technology and Communications Competition in 2021, coordinated by the Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

In addition, Saudi Arabia and the mainland will also hold some other knowledge exchange activities, such as Huawei will provide certification certificates for 100 Saudi trainers through the academy's training program.

It is worth mentioning that China is currently Saudi Arabia's largest trading partner. Saudi Arabia also recently announced billions of dollars in new investments in metaversalms, blockchain and other future technologies.

According to the memorandum, the college will receive certificates and employment opportunities after participating in the program. Another goal of the collaboration is to train people to develop Huawei services in Saudi Arabia. According to the Saudi Press Agency, the agreement was signed at the LEAP Technology Forum in Riyadh.
