Xu Ye said that relatively speaking, during the Spring Festival, the most important task of the studio is to control the temperature and humidity of the orchids, such as the humidity in the flower room during the day, to open the window for ventilation, and to do a good job in heat preservation at night.
At present, there are already about 100 pots of orchids with flower buds in the Lanyuan base, which are specially placed in the heated flower room, and this batch of orchids full of flower buds will usher in the exhibition during the 15th Lantern Festival of the first month, how to make them bloom "in time". Xu Ye has his own ideas.
"It is necessary to urge the flowers to bloom, but also not to let the flowers bloom too early and cause damage." He said that the temperature in the greenhouse is controlled by the air conditioner heating at about 24 degrees Celsius every day, but as the air conditioner heats up, the room will be dry, so the flower buds and pots are sprayed every two hours to maintain humidity, even at night.
In addition to spraying, watering is another "skill".
"Orchids are hard to keep." According to Xu Ye, watering should be just right, more points are easy to rot roots, less than one point of flower stalks are not straight, will make orchids lose their charm.
If the humidity in the greenhouse is too large, the orchid will have stem rot, and the orchid is sick in the root, but the surface cannot be seen. "The health problems of orchids can only be observed by experience, and we cannot relax at any time." Xu Ye added.

Xu Ye introduced that the orchids in the Hangzhou flower garden were collected from the folk at the beginning, and with the passage of time, many of the rare orchids in the current Orchid Garden were old orchid species found in the early Qing Dynasty, such as Song Mei in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Wang Zi in the Kangxi Period, and Dragon Characters in the Jiaqing Period.
