In 1961, north Korea's Pyeongsan Automobile Factory assembled the Victory 4.15 4x4 light off-road vehicle, the prototype is the Soviet Union's 1953 GAZ-69, using a GAZ-69 2.1-liter inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine, with a maximum output of 55 horsepower, equipped with a 3-speed or 4-speed manual transmission, may have only produced a prototype, "4.15" is named after Kim Il-sung's birthday on April 15.

Victory 4.15

The car has 2 fuel tanks, the capacity of the fuel tank under the car is 47 liters, and the fuel tank under the passenger seat is 28 liters. There are 2 seats in front of the car and two folding seats on both sides of the rear that can accommodate 3 people. There is also an improved version of the front, with lights embedded in the body, which appeared on North Korean stamps in 1963.

From 1968 to 1985, the Hirayama Automobile Factory began assembling (CKD) kaengsaeng 68, "Kaengsaeng" means "self-reliant", the prototype is GAZ-69A, with a payload of 1 ton. Among them, KAENGSAENG 68KA is a 5-seat 4-door version, while KAENGSAENG 68NA is an 8-seat 4-door version, with only 1 door on the left, 2 doors on the right, and 1 door at the rear. These two cars are still in use a lot, in addition to the soft-top convertible version, there is also a hard-top version. There is also a truck version, the rear body is changed to the body, and the 4x4 drive is changed to 4x2.

After 1985, the KAENGSAENG 85 4x4 light off-road vehicle produced by the Hirayama Automobile Manufacturing Plant gradually replaced the kaengsaeng 68 in North Korea, and its prototype was the Soviet Union's UAZ-469, which was put into production in 1971. It uses the UMZ 451 MI 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine, with a maximum output of 71 horsepower, this engine is equipped with 76 gasoline as standard, but it is not picky, and can even use 72 gasoline; it is powered by a 4- or 5-speed manual transmission, a two-speed transfer case.

The car is equipped with 4 doors, the standard military version has 7 seats, can be divided into soft top convertible and hard top 2 versions, the latter also has square lights, strong off-road ability and extremely easy to maintain. Compared with the UAZ-469, the KAENGSAENG 85 has modified the front shape and becomes more square. The modified KAENGSAENG 85 produced much less than the imitation version that did not change its appearance, and the convertible version of the latter was also converted into a parade car to appear in the parade.
