Although the good news in the earnings report continues, Nintendo is conservative about the next quarterly performance. Considering that Switch is currently in the middle of its life cycle, sales momentum is gradually weakening. Chip shortages and logistics congestion have also been important deceleration factors in Switch's expansion, with Nintendo expected to ship 23 million Switch in the fiscal year ending march 2022, down from the 24 million previously expected.
At an investor meeting after the earnings report, Mr. Furukawa reiterated that Nintendo would not change its investment strategy and said that it would not oppose the acquisition if necessary.
