In this competition, the post-00s youngster Song Qiwu played as the only participant in the project of the Chinese delegation. In the end, Song Qiwu ranked first from the bottom among all 53 contestants and did not qualify for the first round of competition.
Song Qiwu made his 10th appearance in the qualifiers, his jump distance was 61.5 meters, and his total score was 24.3 points. After he finished the race, Song Qiwu temporarily ranked last among all the players.
In the end, all 53 players finished the game, and Song Qiwu ranked first from the bottom with 24.3 points, and did not qualify for the first round of the competition. Lindvík from Norway finished first in the qualifiers with 100.5m and 116.7 points.
Although he failed to make it to the first round, Song Qiwu has already made history. Previously he was a track and field athlete, with a focus on the 400-meter hurdles. In 2019, he began to contact ski jumping through cross-border material selection, and he had not even seen snow before that.
After two years of arduous and unremitting training, Song Qiwu completed the transformation from a newcomer to a qualified athlete. In the Intercontinental Cup in August 2021, Song Qiwu helped the Chinese team successfully secure a place in the Winter Olympics. Today, he successfully appeared on the Winter Olympics, becoming the first Sichuan athlete to appear in the Winter Olympic Games.
