With the progress of society and the development of civilization, the form and specifications of tombs are becoming more and more complex, especially people have the psychology of respecting ancestors and the dead, and try to be as luxurious as possible in tombs. Therefore, there will be a large number of funerary products in the tombs of people with status in ancient times, so modern archaeology can better understand history and restore history through the cultural relics in the tomb.
In the 1950s, archaeologists discovered an ancient tomb in Liangjiazhuang, west of Xi'an. The tomb is rectangular, and after cleaning the tomb, the experts were shocked, and the tomb was beautifully built. Many pottery figurines, glassware, wood lacquer, and a large number of gold and silver products have been unearthed, and the pieces are well-made. The most exquisite one is the "gold necklace with pearls and gemstones" worn by the owner of the tomb, which is set with 28 gold beads made of gold, and more than 100 pearls, and the lower end of the necklace is a glorious chicken blood stone. The discovery of this artifact provides important evidence for understanding the history and culture.
However, the value of these funerary items is not as good as the sarcophagus in the tomb, the sarcophagus is two meters high, the craftsmen carved it into a temple, the roof tiles and eaves are very exquisitely carved, if it is not the owner of the tomb lying inside, everyone will not think that this is a sarcophagus.
But the sarcophagus is engraved with four large characters, so that archaeologists do not know how to be good! These four words are "the one who opens is dead." Finally, with the original intention of restoring history and protecting cultural relics, the experts ventured to open the sarcophagus, only to see a nine-year-old girl lying in the coffin. According to the epitaph, the maiden's name was Li Jingxun, and her family was a nobleman of the Sui Dynasty. Her grandfather Li Chong, who had followed Emperor Wen of Sui from birth to death, grew up under the eyes of the emperor since he was a child, and the emperor was very fond of her, but died prematurely due to illness. Because of his favor before his death, the specifications of the tomb after his death are also very high, and there are many funerary products.
Li Jingxun's tomb is the most complete and highest specification Sui Dynasty tomb ever found in China. I just don't know if it is because the four words "the one who opens the door is dead" on the sarcophagus deter the tomb robbers, so that the tomb can be preserved intact and there is no trace of theft.
