The Poet of the Tang Dynasty has a Zen poem in his endless collection: Looking for spring every day without seeing spring, mangshoe stepping on the clouds of Longtou. Come back smiling and sniffing plum blossoms, spring is already ten in the branches. The poet traveled in all directions, looking for traces of spring, but walked for a long time without finding it. He returned home exhausted, only to find that the plum blossoms in the house had bloomed and the whole yard was full of spring.
People always like to ask for Zen questions from the outside, but they don't know that the real path is in people's hearts. There is nothing outside the heart, there is no reason outside the heart. A person asking for it is just a waste of effort.
Wang Yangming said: I am self-sufficient and do not ask for anything. Everything is in the heart of man, and there is no warmth in a person's heart, and no warmth can be found in any way. There is no spring in a person's heart, and he cannot feel spring anywhere. Happiness and warmth are also in people's hearts. Planting kindness in the heart will naturally reap kindness. If you plant virtue in your heart, you can naturally reap blessings.
All the blessings, not far from the square inch, from the heart to find, the feeling is all the same. In the spring season, it is more important to plant three spring feelings in the heart. It's like the sages enlightening the Dharma in their hearts. Those who have light in their hearts are never dark, and those who have spring in their hearts must be the first to feel the warm wind and warm light of spring.
Li Chun, to establish a strong virtue. The ancients said: Spring, there is the virtue of life. Allowing all things to grow is the greatest virtue. After the spring, the temperature continues to rise, and the heavens and the earth are full of yang. Plants begin to sprout again, and animals become active. Spring gives life to the earth and hope to the people. In ancient times, winter was starving and cold, and people were suffering in harsh environments. As soon as spring arrives, the earth thaws and spring blossoms. People greet its arrival with the most grand festival, the Spring Festival. There is no festival more important than the Spring Festival, no more benevolent season than spring.
Confucius said: Born to be benevolent. Allowing living things to grow and reproduce is benevolence. Spring is full of yang and all things are revived, which is the compassion of heaven and earth, which also enlightens us to cultivate the virtue of "benevolence". In the Book of Rites and Universities, it is said: "Virtue runs the body." ", Lide and good deeds radiate the light of the heart, recover their own yang qi, and establish the spirit of the next year.
Li Chun, to establish a mission for the next year. Folk customs are "Li Chun" as "Fighting Spring". On this day, people make a "spring cow" out of dirt, and then whip it with a whip, which is called "beating the spring cow", which means to persuade farmers to plough in the spring and pray for a good harvest. Lichun is the beginning of the year and the beginning of spring plowing.
