Li Chun, alias First Moon Festival, Year Festival, Year Changing, And Year Dan, is the first of the twenty-four solar terms. Standing, which means "beginning", spring represents warmth and growth, and when the sun reaches 315° ecliptic longitude, it is a spring that falls from February 3 to 5 in the Gregorian calendar. The most remarkable feature of Lichun in nature is that everything is beginning to show signs of recovery. In the traditional concept, Lichun has an auspicious meaning.
Lichun is one of the important traditional festivals in Chinese folklore. Since the Qin Dynasty, China has been using Lichun as the beginning of the Mengchun season. The so-called "spring plan of the year" has been a traditional festival since ancient times. China attaches great importance to it from the official to the non-governmental sector, and the spring has a history of more than 3,000 years. At the beginning of the spring, Tianzi personally led the three dukes and nine secretaries and princes to the eastern suburbs to welcome the spring and pray for a good harvest.
In the "December Chronicle" of the Lü's Spring and Autumn, which was written in the late Warring States period, there are eight names of solar terms, such as Lichun, Spring Equinox, Lixia, Summer Solstice, Liqiu, Autumn Equinox, Lidong, and Winter Solstice. These eight solar terms, the most important of the twenty-four solar terms, mark the transition of seasons and clearly divide the four seasons of the year. Spring is spring before lixia, summer is before lixia to liqiu, autumn is autumn before liqiu to lidong, and winter is winter before lidong to lichun.
Lichun is the first of the twenty-four solar terms of the lunar calendar, which is divided from an astronomical point of view, and in nature, in people's minds, spring means wind and sun warmth, birds and flowers; spring also means that everything grows and farmers sow seeds. In nature, the most significant feature of Lichun is that everything is beginning to show signs of recovery. In the spring, the Tropic of Cancer (Huang chi jiao) on the mainland and its southern area can clearly feel the atmosphere of early spring. Due to the vast size of the continent, the large span of north and south, and the different natural rhythms in various places, "LiChun" is only a prelude to entering spring for many regions, and everything has not yet recovered, and it is still in the winter when everything is closed.
