Trail Blazers: Lillard's surgery was successful and he wouldn't be pushed to make an early comeback just to win a few more games

Live Bar Feb. 4 5 Blazer GM Joe Cronin was interviewed today on the NBA's official website, in which he talked about Lillard's injury.

Lillard underwent abdominal tendon repair surgery last month and is now in the recovery phase. Commenting on Lillard's surgery, Cronin said: "It was successful, and problems with the abdominal tendons have plagued him for many years. I was relieved to see him finally say he was going to have surgery. I hope Lillard will extend his career with this surgery and continue to improve his standards. ”

He arrived at Lillard's comeback schedule, and Cronin said: "There is no clear timeline at the moment and we need to be patient and make sure he is fully recovered both physically and mentally. I think it's definitely a good thing to give him a break, he's been under too much pressure over the last three years and he's been enduring hurt. ”

"We're going to deal with it with a bigger view, and we're not going to push him back early in order to win a few more games. We need to make sure Lillard's health and mindset as he will stay with us for many more years, not just this season. We'll fix the team's current problems, but I don't want to put too much pressure on Lillard to come back when he's healed and feels like he's ready. ”
