Everybody: Barca want to give Garvey a salary extension and a severance payment, and will meet in the coming weeks

According to Spain's "Daily Sports" newspaper, after the winter transfer window is closed, Barca will begin to negotiate a contract extension with Garvey.

Garvey has made his mark on barca squad this season and has also been selected for the Spanish national team, with their contract expiring in June 2023.

But the 17-year-old has an annual salary of only 100,000 euros and a termination payment of 50 million euros. Barca hope to give Garvey a salary increase and an increase in the amount of the termination fee to lock in the youngster's future.

Barca met with the player's agent, Della Pena, last year, and the initial meeting was not negotiated. Barca believe there will be no problem with a contract extension with Garvey, especially given that the players themselves want to succeed at Barca.

Barca will meet again with De la Pena in the coming weeks, and they hope to increase Garvey's termination fee to 1 billion euros, as they have done with Fati and Pedri.
