Juve's financial fraud mainly involves two aspects, one is to inflate the player's transfer fee to make accounts, Juve is suspected of fraudulently through transfer expenses, salary expenses, agent commission expenses and other expenses, resulting in a significant reduction in book losses and a larger budget space. Commonly known as the "false capital gains case", a total of 9 Italian clubs were investigated.

The second aspect is "player abandonment salary fraud". During the pandemic, Juve announced that the entire team had forgone 4 months' salary, essentially delaying the payment of this part of the salary through a private agreement with the player.

In January, the Italian Football Federation officially announced that Juventus club had deducted 15 league points for the season due to financial fraud, and at the same time banned 11 senior executives, including Juve president Agnelli.

Juventus appealed the penalty. In April, Italy's last sports court, the Sport Guarantee Commission, announced that Juve's appeal had been partially accepted, and the financial fraud case was transferred to the Federal Court of Appeal for retrial, and Juve temporarily recovered the 15 points deducted earlier.

On May 22, Italy's Federal Court of Appeal announced the outcome of Juve's case, deducting Juve 10 points for the current season. Juventus officials stated at the time that they reserved the right to appeal.

On 30 May, Juve dropped their appeal and paid a fine of 718,000 euros, confirming that there were no further penalties for the season.
