The torch relay lasts for 3 days, after about 1200 torchbearers, on February 4, the torch will ignite the main torch tower of the National Stadium, officially ushering in the Beijing Winter Olympics time. On February 2, Yi Liyuan, a famous singer, actor, cultural promotion messenger of the Winter Olympics and associate professor of communication university of China, who served as the torch bearer of The 195th Torch, participated in the torch relay.

"The torch relay is the essence and symbol of the Olympic Games, and the torch shows the world the understanding and transmission of the Olympic spirit by a city, a country and a nation." Yi Liyuan said that she hopes to make a modest contribution to the inheritance and promotion of Chinese culture through her dual identities as a literary and artistic worker and an educator.

The torch relay is the most sacred and important moment in life

Beijing News: What was your mood when you learned that you had become a torchbearer?

Yi Liyuan: Very excited, happy, proud, and very honored. There are about 1,200 Torchbearers of the Winter Olympics, all of whom are outstanding representatives from all walks of life. As a member of the education, culture and art circles, I am also a cultural promotion messenger of the Winter Olympics, and I feel particularly honored to undertake the responsibility and mission.

The experience of participating in the Winter Olympics is very rare. I am a native of Heilongjiang, heilongjiang as the "land of ice and snow" is a province where winter sports are very developed. I participated in professional short track speed skating training when I was about ten years old, and it can be said that I have cultivated a love of ice and snow sports since I was a child.

At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, when I was a sophomore at the university, I volunteered for news reporting and translation services, and after 14 years, I was able to participate in the Winter Olympics again, and my excitement was self-evident.

Beijing News: Have you made any preparations for this torch relay?

Yi Liyuan: The section I ran in Beijing Winter Olympic Park is located near the Shougang Ski Jump in Shijingshan. This place is very familiar to me, because I have visited the previous show and filmed the MV. So when I saw the "high heels" (ski jump) in the car, I felt very kind. In terms of preparation, I also learned from the staff in advance about some of the precautions needed in the torch relay, such as how to lift the torch, how to light the fire, etc.

Beijing News: How do you feel when you pass it on? How do you understand such a form of torch relay?

Yi Liyuan: The torch relay distance is actually less than 100 meters, but the form of the torch relay has a long history in the history of the international Olympic movement, and this kind of torch-passing ceremony represents the Olympic spirit of mutual understanding, friendship, unity and fair competition, and also reflects the spiritual outlook of a city, a country and a nation.

Therefore, in the process of transmission, I feel that this is the most sacred and important moment in life, and we must show the spiritual outlook of representing the cultural self-confidence and national self-confidence of the people in our country, and hope to show the strength of the Chinese nation to the whole world.

Personally spread the culture of the Winter Olympics and help promote ice and snow sports

Beijing News: As a cultural promotion ambassador of the Winter Olympics, you have been very active in various activities in the past two years, do you have any memorable experiences?

Yi Liyuan: I have participated in all the activities from the 1,000-day countdown to the Winter Olympics, the first anniversary, 100 days, and even the 10-day countdown, to the release of the mascot of the Winter Olympics, the release of slogans, and the recruitment of global volunteers. On stage, I sang a lot of Winter Olympic songs with my expertise; on the screen, the key drama of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television's Winter Olympics theme "The Name of Ice and Snow" starring me will be broadcast on February 5.

These experiences are also a learning process for me, as an educator and literary and artistic worker, I want to promote science in a way that I can.

I remember participating in the Beijing Satellite TV's "Winter Dream Covenant" Winter Olympic venue music reality show, visiting the 7 major winter Olympic venues in the National Speed Skating Hall, Water Cube, National Gymnasium, Capital Gymnasium, Shougang Big Jump, Yanqing National Bobsleigh Center, Zhangjiakou Genting Ski Park, in-depth contact with many behind-the-scenes construction staff of the Winter Olympics, and learned the story of the construction process.

Like alpine skiing, snowmobile sledding is a domestic short board, or even a blank project, venue planning, design, construction, operation can be said to be "zero starting point". Bobsleigh competition is the fastest, high risk factor and professional competition in the snow sports of the Winter Olympic Games, and the speed of the competition can reach about 140 kilometers per hour, which is known as "F1 on ice and snow", and the requirements for the venue are very strict.

The National Bobsleigh Center spirals down the ridge of the coastal Tuoshan Mountain, overcoming many difficulties, the track has a vertical drop of 121 meters, a track length of 1975 meters, and 16 curves, which is currently the only bobsleigh track in China, the third in Asia and the 17th in the world.

Since the successful bid for the Winter Olympic Games, many participants have spent four or five years or more in their posts, quietly contributing all aspects to the design, construction, operation and maintenance of venues, overcoming various difficulties to ensure that they are delivered and used on schedule, which makes me deeply feel the concept of green Olympics, shared Olympics, open Olympics, and clean Olympics.

Give full play to your professional advantages and do your best to tell the Chinese story well

Beijing News: In the upcoming Winter Olympics, what are the competitions that you are more concerned about?

Yi Liyuan: The more concerned project is short track speed skating. First of all, I myself have studied short track speed skating, I know more about this sport, at the same time, in many Winter Olympic sports competitions, short track speed skating has taken the lead in achieving a breakthrough of zero medals and gold medals at the Mainland Winter Olympics. At the 16th Winter Olympics in 1992, Ye Qiaobo won two silver medals in speed skating in the 1000 meters and 500 meters; at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, usa, Yang Yang won the short track speed skating women's 500 meters final. So I think the short track speed skating project is very important for China.

I hope that China's Winter Olympic athletes can achieve good results in either event at their own doorstep.

Beijing News: In recent years, you have served as a cultural ambassador for the Winter Olympics, an image ambassador for the "Belt and Road", and frequently participated in cultural dissemination and exchange activities at home and abroad.

Yi Liyuan: I think this is my advantage. As educators, our duty is to disseminate knowledge and cultural ideas and pass on the torch among the younger generation of students; as literary and artistic workers, we can tell Chinese stories through the images created in musical works and film and television works.

The Communication University of China, where I work, also has its own professional advantages in building an international communication context, and coupled with the fact that I studied journalism as an undergraduate and later transformed into the field of music, this interdisciplinary integration can better achieve this responsibility and mission. In order to create a credible, respectable and lovely image of China, we will make a personal and modest contribution.
