On February 2, the Ministry of Emergency Management and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region respectively approved Comrade Ou Baoer, deputy director of the Diandu Fire Rescue Station of Dahua Yao Autonomous County, Hechi City, who died in the fire fighting, and Comrade Wei Jide, a full-time firefighter of the government, as martyrs, and the Fire Rescue Bureau of the Ministry of Emergency Management posthumously recorded the first class of personal merit for the two martyrs.

At about 23:00 on January 31, 2022, a fire broke out in a private sofa production workshop in Laotun, Gugan Village Bureau, Dahua Town, Dahua Yao Autonomous County, Hechi City, and 7 people were trapped, and the Diandu Fire Rescue Station was ordered to the scene to rescue. The internal structure of the fire building is complex, with a large number of flammable materials such as sponges, wood, leather, etc., which produce high temperatures and a large amount of toxic fumes. O'Paul, Wejid and other comrades formed a search and rescue team and went deep into the burning building under the cover of water guns to search for trapped people. In the process of search and rescue, the scene exploded, and comrades Opaul and Weijid were seriously injured, and after the rescue was ineffective, they died heroically. None of the 7 people rescued were in danger of life.
After the sacrifice of Comrades Opaul and WeiJid, the main responsible comrades of the Ministry of Emergency Management demanded that they do a good job in the aftermath pension work, expressed condolences to the families of the two comrades, and sent a working group to Hechi City to guide the aftermath pension work.
Ou Baoer, male, Zhuang ethnicity, born in December 1995, Huanjiang, Guangxi, joined the fire fighting work in September 2014, a member of the Communist Party of China, college education, has participated in more than 300 fire fighting and rescue battles, rescued more than 100 trapped people.
Wei Jide, male, Zhuang ethnicity, born in August 1998, Du'an, Guangxi, joined the fire fighting work in October 2020, a member of the Communist Youth League, college education, has participated in more than 60 fire fighting and rescue battles, rescued more than 20 trapped people.
