On July 27, 1953, with the signing of a ceasefire agreement between the two sides at Panmunjom, the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, which had lasted for nearly three years, finally came to an end. According to the previous agreement, the volunteers Wang Qiang and Xu Huanfu held a wedding ceremony that had been waiting for a long time at the division headquarters on September 6 of the same year. Although the wedding is not a grand ceremony, but with the sincere blessings of comrades, the hearts of the two newlyweds are still very happy. Because between them is a witness to the war, a love that has passed the test of life and death.

Wang Qiang was born in May 1923, and he was only 14 years old when he joined the army in November 1937, but in the era when the Japanese army was rampant in the land of China, he had already understood the meaning of the military. After joining the Party in September 1940, he demanded himself to a higher standard, committed to interpreting the Oath of the Communists.
Because he was interested in martial arts since childhood, Wang Qiang learned a good skill from a young age, which also laid the foundation for his later achievements in the battlefield. After joining the army, Wang Qiang performed well in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the War of Liberation, and the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. Among them, the most special significance for him was the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. Because this war is not only a "war for the founding of the country" for the country, but also a love for himself.
The War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea has been testing the logistical strength of the volunteer army from beginning to end, and this is also a test for the railway corps entering the DPRK. Wang Qiang, then director of the Political Department of the Bridge Regiment of the Third Division, took on the responsibility of repairing bridges to ensure the smooth completion of the supply of volunteers, ammunition and supplies after entering the DPRK with the army. And he also accepted the test, and led the troops to complete the bridge repair work every time, and repeatedly made military achievements.
Xu Huanfu joined the army in September 1948 and was a member of the literary and artistic propaganda team in the railway column of the Fourth Field Army. After the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea began, its original troops were reorganized and joined the Third Division of the Railway Corps. After Xu Huanfu entered the DPRK with the army, he took up the post of typist in the division headquarters. In this way, the two had a little fate in the dark.
Under the matchmaking of Wang Qiang's old subordinate Wang Ruichang, two people with common experiences and common ideals slowly communicated with each other and came together step by step. However, due to the very tense situation in North Korea, the two did not immediately tie the knot, perhaps because they were afraid that if someone did not return home safely, it would be unfair to leave another person alone in this world! So after much deliberation, the two agreed: Wait until the war is won, and then we will get married.
Wang Qiang, who was the party secretary of the division organ at the time, often needed to go deep into the front line to command the emergency repair work of the bridge, and in a certain mission, he suffered from pulpitis because of his impatience, but due to the urgency of the situation, he always insisted on being on the front line, and he was still unwilling to go down to the line of fire no matter how much his subordinates persuaded him. It was not until his condition deteriorated and he became unconscious that his subordinates successfully sent him to a health center for treatment. Fortunately, after the treatment of doctors, Wang Qiang was finally able to turn the crisis into safety. At this time, Xu Huanfu was also working hard for the victory of the war, leaving the girl's squeamishness behind, and fighting a cave with the male comrades in a damp and dark environment overnight, which made the comrades-in-arms all praise and admire.
Because between the division's political headquarters and the headquarters, there is a mountain. Coupled with the tension of the war, even if the two were soldiers of the Third Division of the Railway Corps, they rarely had the opportunity to see each other. Although this mountain prevents the two from meeting each other, it cannot block the love between the two people. In this way, the two fought diligently in their respective posts in the tense fire of war, worried about each other's safety while encouraging each other, and the letters exchanged from time to time were full of words of encouragement, until the day when the war ushered in the armistice.
After the tempering of war, love naturally seems more precious. Presumably this is why so many loves who have been acquainted with the smoke of war are still pure and still stronger than Jin jian after decades of baptism!
