【2021 Annual Joint Venture Mid-size SUV Sales Ranking】Compared with independent brands, joint venture brands are more favored by consumers in the mid-size SUV market. According to the statistics compiled by the editors of the car purchase network, the wholesale sales of the joint venture mid-size SUV market in 2021 were 1.6408 million units, nearly 700,000 more than the independent brands. Compared with 2020, sales of joint venture mid-size SUVs increased by 6.1% year-on-year.
According to the data, there are seven models of the joint venture mid-size SUV that will sell more than 100,000 units in 2021. Tesla Model Y came out of nowhere, winning the first joint venture mid-size SUV sales with sales of 200131 vehicles, with a clear lead.
The Volkswagen Tiguan L, the 2020 joint venture mid-size SUV sales champion, ranked second with 158385 units sold in the whole year, but lower than the sales of 178574 units in the previous year. Buick Encore family sold 146476 vehicles in the year, ranking third, also lower than the 167,880 units sold in 2020.
The joint venture medium-sized SUVs ranked fourth to sixth are luxury brands, of which Mercedes-Benz GLC is still the most popular traditional luxury SUV brand, with annual sales of 140049; Mercedes-Benz Q5L sales of 134624 units, slightly lower than Mercedes-Benz GLC; BMW X3 sales of 128961 units, ranking sixth. Compared with 2020, sales of all three luxury SUVs have declined.
In addition, the Volvo XC60 sold 58,837 units, and the Cadillac XT5 sold 52,977 units, which was also not as good as the sales in 2020.
Highlander performed well, with annual sales of 107733 units, ranking seventh, up from 95,304 units the previous year.
Volkswagen Tanyue sales fell very much, with sales of only 89,339 vehicles in 2021, far lower than the 169507 units last month.
Other joint venture midsize SUVs with better sales in 2021 include the Chevrolet Explorer selling 43,200 units, the Jetta VS7 selling 40,528 units, and the Honda Guandao selling 40,066 units.
