Up to now, more than 150 athletes from 17 countries and regions have come to train. "Athletes have reported that the ice quality is very good, and they think that the ice surface is flat and the speed of skating is fast, which makes us feel a lot more at ease." Zhou Qiurui introduced that according to the convention, the venue will hold a test match before the Winter Olympics in the next few days, "The process of the test match is exactly the same as the official competition, so that athletes can feel the rhythm of the game in advance." By analyzing the speed of the athletes, we can also grasp the ice quality from the side. ”

The organization of the event is complicated, and the venue team needs to cooperate closely with the International Skating Federation, the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, the broadcast team and other parties. It is understood that the International Skating Federation has appointed two technical representatives and 11 technical officials to rule the speed skating competition of the Beijing Winter Olympics. In order to better complete the organization of the competition, the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee also sent 60 domestic referees to participate. In addition, 8 trial skaters will try skating before the start of each race to ensure that the ice surface meets the requirements of the competition.

At the Beijing Winter Olympics, there are 14 sub-events in speed skating, and the competition will be held from February 5 to 19. During this period, 166 athletes from 27 national and regional delegations will participate in the competition.
