Take stock of the flag bearers of the Chinese team at previous Winter Olympics! Each one is not simple

It is a great honor to be the flag bearer of the Chinese delegation to the Winter Olympics, so the selection of the flag bearer of the Chinese delegation at each Winter Olympic Games is very interesting.

At present, the Chinese team has 13 Winter Olympic standard-bearers (including the opening and closing ceremonies, Zhao Hongbo has served twice), either by the outstanding performance of the previous Winter Olympics, or which athlete has made a breakthrough contribution in a certain field.

At present, athletes who have served as the standard-bearers of the Chinese delegation at the Winter Olympics include short track speed skaters Zhao Weichang and Zhao Shijian, Yang Yang, Liu Qiuhong, Zhou Yang and Wu Dajing; figure skaters Zhang Shubin, Zhao Hongbo (2 times), Zhang Min and Tong Jian; speed skaters Song Chen and Liu Gongfei; and skiers Han Xiaopeng.

This morning, Beijing time, the Chinese delegation identified two flag bearers for the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics, namely Gao Tingyu, a male speed skater, and Zhao Dan, a female athlete on a steel-frame snowmobile.

Not counting the flag bearers Gao Tingyu and Zhao Dan at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games, we can read some interesting information from the identities of the 13 flag bearers who have served as the Chinese team in the previous Winter Olympics.

First, from the perspective of the project, short track speed skating (6 people), figure skating (5 people), speed skating (2 people) and skiing (1 person). The reason why short track speed skaters have the largest number of standard-bearers is related to the fact that short track speed skating has won the most winter Olympic gold medals (10 pieces). Of the 13 Winter Olympic gold medals won by the Chinese team so far, short track speed skating has contributed 10.

Second, there are three outstanding female athletes in the 14 flag bearers, namely Yang Yang, Liu Qiuhong and Zhou Yang, all of whom are short track speed skaters.

Third, Zhao Hongbo has served as a flag bearer twice, once at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano and the other at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Fourth, since the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, due to the increasingly good athletic performance of mainland ice and snow athletes, in order to expand the scope of recognition, the Chinese delegation in 2010, 2014 and 2018 appointed two different athletes as flag bearers at the opening and closing ceremonies.

Fifth, since 1994, the International Olympic Committee has decided that the Winter Olympic Games and the Summer Olympic Games will be held in two years. In order to stagger the winter olympics from the summer olympics, the 1992 Winter Olympics and the 1994 Winter Olympics were only two years apart.

The Chinese team has 13 Winter Olympic standard-bearers:
