Tan Taimi, who had premeditated to rob a female taxi driver, went to the vicinity of the bus station in Jingxi City (formerly Jingxi County), Guangxi Province, at about 17:00 on November 25, 2005, and fraudulently took a taxi driven by the victim, Yi Moumei (female, aged 34), to the vicinity of the smelter in Debao County, Guangxi Province, in the name of renting a car. Tan Taimi dragged Yi Moumei to the back of the taxi, Yi Moumei took out a knife to resist and called for help, Tan Taijian grabbed the knife and stabbed Yi Moumei dozens of times in the chest, abdomen, neck and other places.

After identification: Yi Moumei was a single-edged sharp weapon that stabbed the chest, back and abdomen, and there were more than 30 injuries to the whole body, causing rupture and bleeding of the heart, lungs and liver, resulting in hemorrhagic shock and death.

The facts ascertained in the original judgment and the review ruling of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Higher People's Court are clear, the evidence is credible and sufficient, the conviction is accurate, and the sentence is appropriate. The trial proceedings were lawful.

Therefore, the Higher People's Court of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region approved the original trial's criminal ruling sentencing defendant Tan Taijian to death for the crime of robbery, deprivation of political rights for life, and confiscation of all personal property.

Before carrying out the death penalty, the Hechi City Intermediate People's Court arranged for convict Tan Taijian to meet with his close relatives in accordance with the law, fully protecting the lawful rights of the executed convict.
