However, the blind box economy has also gradually exposed many problems. According to statistics, the main problems reported by consumers are:
The first is to use blind boxes to sell temporary goods or counterfeit and shoddy products. If it is claimed that online shopping for cosmetics reaches a fixed price, you can add 1 yuan to give away the blind box, but the actual blind box is a product that is about to expire;
The second is to use blind boxes to induce consumption. For example, the "joint blind box package" jointly launched by catering enterprises and blind box sellers induces consumers to over-consume, obtain limited blind boxes, and aggravate food waste;
The third is the use of blind boxes to sell diseased live animals;
Fourth, some merchants refuse to bear the after-sales responsibility for blind box goods;
Fifth, induce minors to consume impulsively in the name of treasure, rarity, limited quantity, etc.;
Sixth, the probability of blind boxes is not transparent, and there are fraudulent situations such as private demolition and then sale.
The China Consumer Association said that at present, the blind box consumption is expanding in a disorderly manner, and the "blind box wind" such as hand-made blind boxes, ticket blind boxes, and pet blind boxes is getting stronger and stronger, and it seems that "everything can be blind boxes". However, the problems of blind box selling fakes, refusal to take responsibility, illegal sales, unclear probabilities, and blind box addiction are also becoming increasingly prominent.
In this regard, the China Consumer Association suggests: First, strengthen the legislative system, delineate the red line of blind box operation, prohibit blind box marketing for young children, special commodities, and special fields, make clear regulations on blind box prices, sales methods, probability expressions, etc., and severely crack down on illegal sales, black box operations, improper inducements, sky-high price speculation, evasion of responsibility, etc., and effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers.
Second, business operators should operate in accordance with the law and compliance, earnestly assume the responsibilities of business operators, put an end to bad marketing methods such as violating public order and good customs, inducing speculative psychology, and unscrupulous means to make profits, and work product quality and service levels, and strive to enhance brand image and long-term development.
Third, consumers should consume rationally, act according to their ability, be vigilant against illegal marketing routines by operators, pay attention to the physical and mental health of minors, put an end to comparison, waste, and speculation, and be mature and wise consumers.
