According to the report, the research team of Ryohei Hirose of Kyoto Prefectural Medical University in Japan said that Omexon can survive on the surface of the skin for 21 hours, compared with 17 hours for Delta; Omilon can survive on plastic surfaces for 8 days, while The Delta strain is 4.8 days.

Ryohei Hirose said that the high stability of the Omikejong strain may be one of the reasons why it can quickly replace the Delta strain and lead to the spread of the current epidemic.

However, the research team also pointed out that after 15 seconds of disinfection with alcohol, any mutant strain on the surface of the skin will lose its activity.

The paper has reportedly not been reviewed by other scholars, among others.
