The suspension of Goku 2 inevitably makes people think about it, is Goku 3 close?
Even if the 2022 vision is not very backward, its flight ability and reliability can still be played, but its cameras Zenmuse X5S and Zenmuse X7 and the supporting lenses are a bit out of step with the times. Competitors are committed to taking to the skies with the latest full-frame cameras, such as sony Airpeak, and DJI needs to regain its edge.
Released last year, the Ronin 4D is equipped with a new camera module, the Zenmuse X9, which is also seen as a companion camera for the future Goku 3. The X9 uses a full-frame sensor, available in both 6K and 8K versions, and compared to the X5S and X7, the X9 adds dual-gain native ISO capabilities for better high-sensitivity shooting capabilities. At the same time, X9 also has 9 built-in ND filters, which completely solves the pain points of users shooting in bright environments. Coupled with the ProRes RAW internal recording function, the aerial version of the X9 will help the Goku 3 to fully suppress the video capabilities of traditional micro-single cameras.
In addition, other aspects of the Goku 3 will also be improved, such as batteries, image transmission, obstacle avoidance, and intelligent shooting, etc., which will be added to the latest technological achievements in recent years. But the question is, in 2022, can we see its official release?
We remain optimistic about that. Earlier this month, DJI PUBLIC RELATIONS manager Curran Daly revealed in an interview with foreign media that this year DJI plans to launch a number of new products, including a variety of drones and stabilizers products, which do have some exciting things, there are innovations that users are looking forward to. Although "listening to a jun's words is like listening to a seat", we have reason to believe that the release time of Goku 3 is this year.
In my opinion, the discontinuation of Goku 2 is certainly a clear sign. Back last year, the Royal 2 was discontinued in May, and the Royal 3 was released in November. Goku 3 may not be that fast, with earlier rumors that the new machine will be released in September, which is a reasonable time, but due to uncertainties such as the epidemic and supply chain, it is possible for months before the end of the year.
In terms of price, there is no news, blind guessing a set of top matching will be close to 100,000, of course, if this price is really this price, it is still cheaper than competitors, after all, it is a model for high-end film and television shooting.
It should be noted that with the tightening of drone policies in various countries, drones of the level of Inspire will be more restricted. In Europe, for example, the Inspire series of drones in the A3 weight category need to maintain a distance of at least 150 meters from residential, commercial facilities and industrial areas. The Mavic 3 Cine should be a more viable option for many professional filmmakers.
