According to the China News Agency, a spokesman for the US Department of Defense recently said that the mainland has strengthened its "intimidation" and pressure on Taiwan and other allies and partners, intensified military activities in the Taiwan Strait and other regions, undermined regional peace and stability, and increased the risk of miscalculation. The US side also said that it has long followed the "one-China policy," but this is different from the mainland's one-China principle and will continue to assist Taiwan in maintaining sufficient defense capabilities.

In this regard, Tan Kefei said, "The relevant statements of the US side have reversed black and white and confused right and wrong, and the Chinese side expresses strong dissatisfaction and resolute opposition to this. He pointed out that there is only one China in the world, Taiwan is a part of China, and the government of the People's Republic of China is the only legitimate government representing all of China. This is a basic fact recognized by the international community. The one-China principle is the political foundation of Sino-US relations and the core connotation of the three Sino-US joint communiques.

Tan Kefei said that the Taiwan issue is purely China's internal affair and brooks no foreign interference. For some time now, the US side has stubbornly adhered to the strategy of "using Taiwan to control China," has continued to say and act passively on Taiwan-related issues, escalated official exchanges with Taiwan, increased military collusion with Taiwan, announced plans to sell weapons to Taiwan, and us US warships have sailed through the Taiwan Strait on many occasions, and military planes have landed on Taiwan Island. These provocative acts of the US side have seriously damaged sino-US relations between the two militaries and seriously undermined peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.

Tan Kefei said: We urge the US side to earnestly abide by the one-China principle and the stipulations of the three Sino-US joint communiques, immediately correct its mistakes, stop any form of official us-Taiwan contacts and military contacts, prudently and properly handle the Taiwan issue, stop supporting and cheering for the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces, and safeguard Sino-US relations between the two militaries and peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait with practical actions.

"The 'Taiwan independence' split is the biggest obstacle to the reunification of the motherland and a serious hidden danger to national rejuvenation. The DPP authorities have constantly colluded with external forces and sought 'independence' provocations, which is the root cause of the current tense and turbulent situation in the Taiwan Strait. The historical task of the complete reunification of the motherland must be realized and can certainly be realized. The PLA will maintain a high state of alert for war at all times and ready for war, resolutely thwart all interference by external forces and 'Taiwan independence' separatist acts, and resolutely safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity. Tan Kefei said.

On the 12th, in addition to stressing that the mainland's expansion of military activities will increase the risk of misjudgment, he also pointed out that the defense relationship between the United States and Taiwan is consistent with the current threats facing Taiwan, and the United States also urges Beijing to fulfill its commitment to peacefully resolve cross-strait differences in the three communiques between the United States and China.

In addition, White House press secretary Jane Psaki said in response to the Taiwan issue on the 14th that with the escalation of tensions between Taiwan and the mainland, the US commitment to Taiwan is "rock solid". Regarding the Taiwan Relations Act, Psaki said the United States will stick to its commitments under the bill, will continue to support foreign defense relations with Taiwan, and oppose any unilateral change in the status quo.

"Rock solid" has now become the caliber of the US high-level relations with the United States and Taiwan. On October 13, the relevant official Twitter account of the US State Department released photos and tweets of Vice Secretary of State Fernandez and Assistant Secretary of Asia-Pacific Affairs Kang Da meeting with Xiao Meiqin, representative of taipei's Economic and Cultural Representative Office, saying that the US commitment to Taiwan is "rock solid" and looking forward to further deepening US-Taiwan relations.
