New rules for postponement of Premier League matches
All clubs in the Premier League meet and agree that clubs must have at least 4 covid-19 positive players in order to apply for a match extension.
This should be a direct result of media criticism after the postponement of the North London derby.
The Premier League announced: "From now on, if a club applies for a match extension on the basis of a shortage of personnel due to the new crown, they must have at least 4 positive cases in the squad. ”
"This policy will take effect before the next Premier League match (Burnley vs Watford) on Saturday 5 February."
From the record, Arsenal had four players in the squad infected with the new crown when they played brentford in the first round of the league.
When they played chelsea in the second round, five members of the squad were infected with the new crown.
After the rules were changed, it is not known how Arsenal felt.
The Premier League has also changed the rules for fans to enter the stadium. Vaccine passports or negative certificates are no longer required.
