The Spring Festival is approaching, and the taste of the New Year is getting stronger. On January 25th, the Foreign Affairs Office of Nanchang Municipality and the Municipal Forestry Bureau held a Chinese and foreign friends' Spring Festival welcome activity with the theme of "Birds Dancing to Welcome Friends, Friends Painting and Calligraphy receiving Yin Hu".
Wang Guangxi, former secretary general of the Jiangxi Friendship Association, Zheng Qin, deputy director of the Nanchang Municipal People's Congress Overseas Chinese Sect Committee, Yang Funing, chief engineer of the Municipal Forestry Bureau, 31 international friends from 17 countries including Nigeria, Pakistan and Japan, and 13 overseas Chinese representatives attended the event. Chinese and foreign friends gathered together to enjoy the beauty of Pohu Lake in winter, the charm of migratory birds, and the beauty of Nanchang's ecology; they splashed ink to paint tigers and write blessings, and spent the New Year together to welcome the New Year.
The group first came to the Nanji Wetland Conservation Area, migratory birds from the wetland from time to time, flocks of geese sometimes skipped from the sky, the harmonious scene of "birds are free and happy" in front of them made all Chinese and foreign friends can't help but exclaim "This is simply a paradise for migratory birds". According to the staff, the wintering migratory birds in the Nanji Wetland Reserve have been increasing in recent years, reaching more than 200,000 birds at the most, and there are 220 species of birds now counted, which is the result of the cooperation between governments at all levels and all sectors of society to carry out ecological protection. "There are a lot of white cranes flying here from my hometown, and seeing them is like seeing friends from my hometown, and it's nice to see them well taken care of here," says Natasha from the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic of the Russian Federation.
"Let us use birds as the medium to form the fate of mountains and rivers, friendship and cooperation", Director Mei Mei of the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office issued a sincere invitation to the Chinese and foreign friends present in his speech, "I hope that all friends will pay more attention to Nanchang, embrace Nanchang, promote Nanchang, like Nanchang, help Nanchang's reform and opening up, and cheer for Nanchang's development and progress."
Calligraphers and painters from the Provincial Calligraphy Association splashed ink and performed with enthusiasm, and between the beginning and the end, the Spring Festival couplets full of blessings and the vivid Pictures of the Year of the Tiger jumped on the paper.
"Prosperous thousand family music, a thousand years to welcome the new year" "the tiger is in the dragon pan now and in the past, the song and swallow dance is auspicious", the calligraphers and painters explained to foreign friends one by one the connotation of the Spring Festival and the tradition of painting the tiger in the Year of the Tiger to welcome the New Year. International friends also can't help but participate in it, under the guidance of calligraphers and painters, they write out a sheet of "Fu" characters, outline a tiger, express the beautiful expectations for the New Year, and show a strong New Year's flavor.
This activity is the third in the series of activities of "Chinese and Foreign Friends Welcoming the New Year" held by the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, through which foreign friends have experienced the beautiful ecology, seen our traditional culture, felt the Chinese New Year, and at the same time promoted cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, let the foreign friends who are far away from their hometown feel the warmth of home, so that they spent a happy and peaceful Spring Festival in Nanchang.
