World War II was an extremely ambitious topic, about the state, religion, race, philosophy, life... Yet the cruelty of war, the turmoil of the environment, the hardships of life, the fears of adults, in the eyes of children may see a completely different world. Many great film and television works have also been filmed around the theme of World War II.

"Bird Street Island" is a very touching World War II movie, but also a story about children's growth. The Jewish child, with his grandfather dead and his father captured, survived alone in an abandoned building that was once his home and is now like a "lonely island." He can observe the lively world outside through the hole in the wall, where he lives and chats with his little friend Snow, a little mouse, who says that rats spread disease, but he uses rats to help find hidden food.
On one occasion, he occasionally rescued a guerrilla member, boldly contacted a doctor for treatment, and used medicine to help the wounded; walked in the park with the little girl opposite, observing the smile of the little girl through the blinds every day, and the little girl became his little goal of survival. But even as the girl's family wanted to accept him and the partisans wanted to take him away, he held on to the ruins in order to wait for his father's return.
Eventually, as he often read at the end of Robinson Crusoe, Robinson finally ushered in the day of leaving the island and reuniting with his loved ones.
I also recommend several children's war movies: "Beautiful Life" Douban score 9.5, "Boy in Striped Pajamas" Douban score 9.1, "Fanny's Journey" Douban score 8.6, have seen it, another day to write out the sense of viewing, communicate with everyone.
