Taiyuan, January 25 (China News Network) -- An exhibition of Chinese and foreign youth paintings with the theme of "Blessing the Winter Olympics, Realizing the Dream of Ice and Snow" was held in Taiyuan, Shanxi on the 25th, exhibiting more than 300 works from 14 countries and regions such as China, Russia, South Korea, Japan, and Mongolia.

Wu Shaozhong, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanxi Provincial People's Government, said that the painting exhibition aims to promote the Olympic spirit, encourage Chinese and foreign teenagers to interpret the Olympic spirit in the form of painting, and promote international youth art exchanges. The paintings on display presented the public with ice and snow pictures, sports scenes and Winter Olympic elements full of innocence, childlike fun and children's music.

The painting exhibition is divided into two parts: the exhibition of domestic works and the exhibition of foreign works. The domestic works exhibition is 169 paintings created by representatives of primary school students in Taiyuan City, and the exhibition of foreign works is 149 paintings created by representatives of primary school students from 13 countries such as Shanxi Province, International Friendship Province, Foreign Friendship Organization, and International Chinese School from 13 countries, including South Korea, Japan, Mongolia, Italy, Ukraine, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, New Zealand, and Australia.

Lijia Akiyama, a 14-year-old from Japan, is unique in her painting "Five Rings Small Dumplings". The painting is decorated with snow, the colorful dumplings in the middle symbolize the five rings, and there are Beijing specialties such as Peking duck and fritters around it. She hopes that athletes around the world can taste Chinese food in addition to the intense competition.

South Korean teenager Seo Won-hee paints peace doves and mascots of previous Winter Olympics on his works, hoping that people around the world can participate in the Beijing Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympic Games. Sun Jingxuan, from Shanxi, China, also paints peace doves and Winter Olympic mascots on her works. "During the creative process, I learned about figure skating, skiing and other sports, and I was looking forward to the arrival of the Winter Olympics."

Co-sponsored by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Shanxi Province and the People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries of Shanxi Province, the exhibition will be exhibited through a combination of online and offline, and the offline exhibition will last until February 28.
