The young students of the Conservatory of Music had a conflict of ideas in order to rehearse Xian Xinghai's work "The Yellow River Chorus", and decided to follow Xian Xinghai's life path. They set off from Guangzhou, the starting point of Xinghai's study, all the way from Moscow, a foreign land where Xinghai died of illness, and arrived in Yan'an at the same time, retaking the road of growth, art and revolution of Xinghai. Everywhere they went, they could always have encounters and exchanges with Xinghai across time and space, and it seemed that they saw Xian Xinghai, who was in a foreign land and was in danger of life, still struggling unyieldingly on the way back to Yan'an from the Soviet Union. Following the memories of Xinghai's dying moment, feeling Xinghai's love for music, love for the people, love for the motherland, even at the last moment of his life, in the vast snow, his heart still fell towards the motherland and fell reluctantly... It is precisely because of the search and understanding of this road that young students have finally found the true meaning of the works of "people's musicians" and the core of the "Xinghai Spirit", and finally found the spiritual base and source of strength for "people's musicians" to always maintain their original intentions and create for the motherland and the people, and finally understand how we should interpret art classics in the new era and how to interpret the "Yellow River Chorus".
The original opera "Xinghai Xinghai" takes Xian Xinghai's life path as the creative background, takes the young students of Xinghai Conservatory of Music as a new entry point, and advances through the staggering of modern and historical story lines, telling Xian Xinghai's short and glorious life, showing the new generation's exploration and inheritance of the "Xinghai Spirit". The repertoire presents Xian Xinghai's beliefs, ideals, beliefs and artistic pursuits on the road of life to today's audience, leading literary and art workers in the new era to review the original mission of "people's musicians" in artistic creation, looking for the spiritual source of literature and art serving the people, and feeling the power of the faith of revolutionary predecessors.
The main creative team of the opera is strong, composed of experts with zhenggao titles of Xinghai Conservatory of Music and in-service teachers with rich experience in creation and performance, and has attracted the industry's top screenwriting and stage design teams to join, and the members have won many national awards such as the Wenhua Award and the Five One Project Award.
