This selection activity was launched in November 2021 in Han, on the basis of the declaration of cultural relics institutions in various places, experts from each time period and research direction in the archaeological community in the province conducted a preliminary evaluation, and 150 of the 300 archaeological discoveries selected from the pre-selected 300 were selected for final evaluation, and then voted by experts and repeatedly reviewed, and finally selected the selected list. The Shijiahe site in Tianmen and the Longzui site are listed as two of the archaeological discoveries of the Neolithic Era (33 items).
Shijiahe Ruins
The Shijiahe site is the Neolithic settlement site with the largest distribution area, the most complete preservation and the largest number of affiliated settlements found in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River in mainland China.
The newly discovered ancient city of Tanjialing is considered to be the largest prehistoric city site found in the mainland, dating back to 5300 years; the Yinxintai sacrifice site has revealed a total of 5 artificial loess platform foundations and 6 sets of tank remains in the late Shijiahe culture, which is the largest prehistoric sacrifice site found in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River; a batch of jade newly unearthed in Tanjialing has exquisite line carving patterns, complex through carvings and drill holes as thin as needle tips, and is commonly used for circular carving, transparent carving, and subtractive yang carving. The bas-relief line engraving process represents the highest level of jade processing technology in prehistoric China and even In East Asia.
Dragon's Mouth Ruins
Longzui site is an ancient city site dominated by the Yauziling culture period, is an important data for studying the characteristics, phases, chronology, genealogical relationship and settlement form of the Yauziling culture, and the discovery of the ancient city of Longzui is of great significance to the study of the origin and distribution of the city sites in the Hanshui River Basin and even the Yangtze River Basin.
