Zhangzhou: Singing and playing to send blessings

On the evening of the 23rd, in the puppet theater in the ancient city of Zhangzhou, the cast and crew of the Zhangzhou Gezai Opera (Qian Opera) Inheritance and Protection Center presented the traditional opera "Three Family Blessings" (selected paragraphs) to the tourists, and the wonderful performance attracted bursts of applause.

"Three Family Blessings" is a traditional classic play created and performed by the Zhangzhou Qian Opera Troupe [the predecessor of the Zhangzhou Gezai Opera (Qian Opera) Heritage and Protection Center], and won the first and second prizes of the script at the Second Opera Observation Conference of Fujian Province and the East China Opera Observation and Performance Conference held in 1954. "'Three Family Blessings' is an excellent play that best embodies the characteristics of qian opera, which expresses the ordinary people's expectations for a better life when they are difficult to live, conveys the traditional virtues of mutual help between neighbors, and shows the simple and vivid vitality of working people." Chen Zhaohui, director of the Zhangzhou Gezai Opera (Qian Opera) Heritage and Protection Center, said that in order to strengthen the creation of a "Fu culture" atmosphere during the Spring Festival, the center specially launched the play to promote the "Wufu Fujian" cultural logo, so that the audience can appreciate the art of Qian Opera and further understand the "Fu Culture" at the same time.
