TSMC and MediaTek plan to hire more than 10,000 engineers this year to support business expansion

According to the U.S. Stock Research Agency, Sina Technology learned that TSMC and MediaTek, two major chip manufacturers, plan to recruit more than 10,000 engineers this year to support active business expansion plans. TSMC announced plans to invest up to $44 billion this year to expand production capacity to alleviate the global shortage of chips and meet the growing demand for chips for artificial intelligence and 5G applications. TSMC said it had not yet finalized its hiring plans for this year, but said it had a hiring target of about 8,000 people last year. At present, TSMC has more than 60,000 employees worldwide. MediaTek's current positions are mainly located in Taiwan. However, the company said it plans to increase hiring in India.
