At this year's Tokyo Modification Exhibition (TAS), the Subaru STI E-RA concept car was officially launched, and the new car showed Subaru's development ideas for future electrification and high performance, and there are many highlights.
The importance of the word STI to Subaru is self-evident, E-RA is an abbreviation for Electric-Record-Attempt( electric, from the perspective of product positioning, the new car has the key significance of carrying on the top and the bottom, and the new design concept also symbolizes the future direction of Subaru.
At the design level, the exaggerated and radical style runs throughout, and the excellent aerodynamic components and streamlined body posture create a unique gt-car visual feel. The U-shaped LED headlights are highly recognizable, the front lip made of all-carbon fiber is armed to the teeth, and the upper STI logo can also be lit simultaneously.
The new car is equipped with FALKEN brand hot melt tires, with AP RACING brake calipers inside, and the quick-release central bolts are also created for the track.
The large roof air intake is expected to be heat-optimized for the rear motor, and the camera streaming mirrors are futuristic, but it is estimated that they will be replaced by conventional rearview mirrors after mass production.
The rear part of the car has a strong sense of futurism, the design concept of the long tail is born for the impact of extreme speed, the extremely exaggerated lower diffuser and the high-profile large size spoiler are naturally subaru aerodynamic achievements, and the EV characters on the side indicate the identity. The light group also adopts a minimalist style, and the through-type light strip and the point light sources on both sides are not arrogant.
In terms of powertrain, the new car will be equipped with four electric motors, matching four wheels, with a total power of 800 kW (1088 horsepower), and the battery will be equipped with a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 60 kWh. As a "masterpiece", Subaru plans to use its production version to challenge the Nürburgring 400 seconds (6 minutes and 40 seconds) lap record, but all this is after 2023.
