In recent years, the "Chinese fever" has been heating up in Kenya, and the Chinese of learning has become a new trend in the local area, and the Confucius Institute is an important platform for many local students to learn Chinese and get closer to China.
Founded in 2008, the Confucius Institute at the University of Kenyatta currently has more than 5,000 local university students graduating from the Confucius Institute headquarters at the University of Kenyatta alone.
In addition to the Confucius Institute Headquarters at the International Language and Culture Centre, the Confucius Institute at Kenyatta University also has four classes in local primary and secondary schools and the American International University of Kenya.
It is reported that according to the latest reform plan of the Kenyan education department, from 2020, Chinese enter the primary and secondary school classrooms in Kenya, and students from the fourth grade to the third year of primary school in Kenya can take Chinese as an elective course.
