The White House said Wednesday it had taken action to ease logistics and supply chain problems, including making the Port of Los Angeles a 7-day, 24-hour port.

The White House said it would do everything possible to reduce the impact on the lives of the American people, but when asked if it could guarantee that Christmas packages would arrive on time, White House spokesman Psaki said there was no guarantee.

Psaki said: "We are not the U.S. Postal Service or UPS or FedEx. We cannot make guarantees. What we can do is have the federal government use all means to reduce delays,...... We will put pressure not only on workers and unions, but also on logistics companies to do more to reduce delays. ”

Asked if the situation was likely to get worse, Psaki said: "I wouldn't make predictions about that. We know that there are a lot of issues that can affect the supply chain, and it's not a single issue. Increasing the capacity and working hours of ports will undoubtedly have a positive impact. ”

40% of containers enter the U.S. from ports in Los Angeles and Long Beach, California. As of Monday, a total of 62 ships were parked in the two ports, and 81 more were waiting to dock and unload.
