From August 23 to 25, the China-SCO Digital Economy Industry Forum was held in Chongqing. Chongqing cooperates closely with the SCO countries

In 2018 alone, secretary-general Alimov visited Chongqing three times, Armenian Ambassador to China Sergei Manasaryan visited Chongqing twice, Uzbekistan Ambassador to China Saidov visited Chongqing three times, Tashkent Oblast, Minsk Oblast, executive secretary of the SCO Business Council Kanavsky and other more than ten important SCO delegations have visited Chongqing to discuss cooperation.

In August 2018, Chongqing Municipality took the initiative to host the SCO Local Leaders' Meeting to serve the country's overall diplomacy and build a platform for economic, trade, cultural and pragmatic cooperation between localities in the SCO countries.

From May 14 to 16, 2019, the "2019 SCO Local Leaders' Meeting" jointly sponsored by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and the SCO Secretariat was successfully held in Chongqing. Focusing on the theme of "Openness, Sharing, new opportunities for local cooperation in the SCO countries", nearly 40 delegations and 400 people from 7 SCO member states, relevant provinces (prefectures and municipalities) of 4 observer countries, embassies and consulates in China, the SCO Business Council and other countries and foreign countries attended the meeting, deepening mutual understanding, enhancing mutual trust and friendship, and promoting mutual benefit and win-win results through bilateral and multilateral exchanges.

In August 2019, Secretary General Norov came to Chongqing to attend the series of activities of the second China International Intelligent Industry Expo and spoke at the summit of the Expo. The SCO Pavilion was set up at the Expo, which showcased smart technologies and products from Russia, Uzbekistan and other SCO countries, and nearly 20 enterprises from SCO countries came to Chongqing to participate in the exhibition. In the same year, the SCO National Multi-functional Economic and Trade Platform officially signed a contract to settle in Liangjiang New Area.

In October 2020, Chongqing Municipality was invited to lead a delegation to attend the first Forum of Local Leaders of SCO Member States (online).

Since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the SCO countries and Chongqing have overcome their own difficulties, expressed their condolences to each other, donated materials, and practiced the "friendship between the country and the people" and the "Shanghai Spirit" with practical actions, continuing the beautiful love between the SCO and Chongqing.

In January 2020, the SCO Industrialists Committee tried its best to raise 53,500 medical masks in the face of a shortage of medical supplies in the market to send charcoal to Chongqing. In February of the same year, SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov and SCO Industrialist Committee Executive Secretary Sergei Kanavsky sent letters to the main leaders of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee and the Chongqing Municipal Government, highly praising the Chinese government and people's action to fight the "epidemic" and expressing sincere condolences to the people of Chongqing who are intensively preventing and controlling the pneumonia epidemic caused by the new coronavirus infection.

In 2020, Chongqing donated a total value of 5.6536 million yuan in anti-epidemic aid materials to the SCO and SCO countries, and held a video conference with Russia and Armenia on epidemic prevention and control exchanges to exchange epidemic prevention and control measures, clinical treatment techniques, and share experience in epidemic prevention and control. By the end of 2020, more than 1,000 international students from SCO countries will study in Chongqing, and more than 100,000 people will visit and travel. Nearly 40 enterprises have been set up in Chongqing in the SCO countries, and more than 30 enterprises have been set up in the SCO countries.

Focus on the digital economy and help the construction of the Digital Silk Road

On November 10, 2020, President Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the 20th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO Member States, in which President Xi Jinping issued an important initiative on "China will hold the China-SCO Digital Economy Industry Forum in Chongqing next year to build a platform for innovative cooperation among all parties".

Today's world is facing major changes unprecedented in a century, a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation opportunities are prominent, and strengthening cooperation in the fields of digital economy, e-commerce, artificial intelligence, and smart cities has become the common aspiration and common voice of all countries in the world, including SCO countries. In recent years, Chongqing has vigorously accelerated the promotion of intelligent construction, unswervingly taking the development of digital economy as a strategic choice to promote high-quality development, activating new elements, cultivating new kinetic energy, developing new formats, accelerating the transformation and upgrading of traditional enterprises, digital industrialization, industrial digitalization, creating "intelligent manufacturing towns", building "smart cities", and constantly writing a new chapter in the development of the digital economy. "Empowering the economy and adding color to life", smart life has become a beautiful scenery in Chongqing.

Cai Yunge, vice mayor of the Chongqing Municipal Government, said that by the end of 2020, Chongqing will gather more than 7,000 big data intelligent enterprises, and the added value of the digital economy will increase by more than 18% year-on-year. According to the Work Plan for Chongqing to Build a National Digital Economy Innovation and Development Pilot Zone, by the end of 2022, the total digital economy in Chongqing will strive to exceed 1 trillion yuan.

Since the 2018 China International Intelligent Industry Expo settled in Chongqing, it has been successfully held for three consecutive sessions.
