For all the Chinese people, especially the compatriots in the northeast, 1931 was a dark and humiliating year, the Japanese army launched an invasion of China in this year, and the Nationalist government headed by Chiang Kai-shek adopted a policy of non-resistance, so that nearly 30 million compatriots in the northeast faced the spear bayonet of the Japanese army, and the three eastern provinces soon fell.
It was in this year that Gu Shanqing was born in a poor family in Liaoning, the environment in the occupied areas of northeast China was very harsh, and he had long witnessed his compatriots living in a life of plunder and humiliation, and he was very hostile to the enemy army and vowed to join the army and serve the country to fight away the Japanese devils.
When Gu Shanqing was 16 years old, the Northeast Coalition Army went to Wafangdian to recruit soldiers, and he was very active in signing up for the army from an early age, and soon became a recruit egg in the Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition Army. Due to the poor living environment since childhood, Gu Shanqing, who often starved and froze, was not tall and thin, but he still gritted his teeth and insisted on completing the training task, and made many military achievements in the second year after joining the army.
Less than 20 years old, he was small and thin, but he was agile and clever, and the leaders of the army were very optimistic about him, so they sent him to be a communications liaison soldier.
Since then, Gu Shanqing has followed the troops all the way through the War of Resistance and the War of Liberation, participated in important battles such as Liaoshen and Pingjin, and also liberated Guangxi with the troops, and officially became a party member on the eve of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
After the founding ceremony, Gu Shanqing, as an officer of the political department of the 41st Army, was selected as a heroic model representative for his outstanding performance in countless battles, large and small, and went to Beijing to be personally reviewed by Chairman Mao, and also won the "Zhu De Medal".

Considering that Gu Shanqing had experienced ups and downs since he was a child and had not formally received a good education, he was sent to further study. Gu Shanqing has always been very eager to learn knowledge, so he immersed himself in hard study during his further studies and soon ended his studies with full honors.
In 1960, Gu Shanqing, who had obtained a secondary school education, stayed on to teach at the school and became a teacher in the political classroom of Changsha No. 1 Political School, and he was also named the advanced teacher of the year many times because of his work.
In 1969, Gu Shanqing was transferred to a political department of the Guangzhou Military Region as the head of the propaganda department, and after that he spent 14 years climbing step by step to the position of political commissar of the Hunan Provincial Military Region, during which he successively studied in the military high rotation training class and the Central Party School.
In 1988, the People's Liberation Army once again resumed the implementation of the rank system, and Gu Shanqing was also awarded the rank of major general at the award ceremony of this year, at this time he could afford this position in terms of military industry, personal ability, and seniority.
In February of the same year, Gu Shanqing was promoted to deputy political commissar of the Guangzhou Military Region and a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, and he worked conscientiously in this position for 2 years, never making mistakes in his work, self-denial, honesty and integrity, and even his brother's attempt to take shortcuts by taking advantage of his connections was severely rejected by him.

At that time, it was the period of reform and opening up, and many people went to the sea to do business, and Gu Shanqing's younger brother Gu Youqing was one of them, and the business was running smoothly. Thinking of his high-ranking brother, he went to Guangzhou to ask for his brother's consent, and wanted to run rampant in the mall under the guise of his brother, but Gu Shanqing reprimanded him. After that, anyone who wanted to follow his path to seek private interests would be beaten back by Gu Shanqing without mercy.
In 1990, Gu Shanqing was transferred to the political commissar of the Chengdu Military Region, and the commander of the military region with whom he worked was General Zhang Taiheng, who had fought countless battles and was the head of the three major military regions. In 1991, General Zhang Taiheng and the deputy commander of the Chengdu Military Region led a team to inspect the border defense, and on the way back, the helicopter crashed and caught fire and fell, resulting in the death of the deputy commander and all the members of the plane, and General Zhang was dismissed from his post.
The accident did not implicate Gu Shanqing, and after the commander was dismissed, the burden of the Chengdu Military Region fell on his shoulders. Gu Shanqing spent one year completing the aftermath and handover work, and then in 1992 he was transferred to the political commissar of the Beijing Military Region, and four years later he was promoted to the secretary of the party committee of the military region.
In 1994, at the age of 63, Gu Shanqing was awarded the rank of general and served in important positions such as the 14th Central Committee member and the standing committee member of the Ninth National People's Congress until 1996, when he retired.
Retired to the second line, he devoted himself to the study of calligraphy, and was also appointed honorary president of the Beijing Academy of Calligraphy and Painting. Even though he no longer holds an important position, he is still concerned about the country and the people, has donated money to build roads for his hometown several times, practiced charity, and established a number of Hope Primary Schools in Chengdu.
