January 11, 2022 is a sad day for the academic circles of cross-strait affairs and cross-strait relations, because our beloved professor of the Chinese Culture University, Professor Pang Jianguo, unfortunately passed away, and in the early morning of that day, Teacher Pang sent three consecutive messages in multiple groups: "Unfair and unjust Taiwan, I am better off alive than dead!" Then the unfortunate regret happened. Now, when I write this article a week later, I really only have reluctance and sadness in my heart, and as a student, I only use this article to commemorate our most beloved teacher, Professor Pang Jianguo.

The first time I knew Mr. Pang was when I was in my elementary school, when Mr. Pang served as a member of the Taipei City Council, and then he was elected to the position of "legislator" and other public opinion representatives. The most profound impression on Mr. Pang was that during his studies at the Graduate School, because the major of graduate school so far is always inseparable from the research discipline of "cross-strait relations research", which is rich in family and national feelings, so in the past few years, I can always listen to Mr. Pang's professional speeches and academic papers, which also allows me to further understand Mr. Pang's profound academic theoretical foundation and style, and truly understand Teacher Pang who is different from the representative of public opinion through the power of words.

But the real intersection with Teacher Pang is to read the doctoral class of the Chinese Culture University began to talk about, I still remember that in the first semester, I took two courses of Teacher Pang in a row, of which the course "Special Topic Study on Cross-Strait Relations" impressed me the most, which is different from the general traditional course on cross-strait relations, Teacher Pang talked about the changes in economic and social development from the climate of economic globalization to the Chinese mainland economic and social development, which also re-realized through this class the achievements of Chinese mainland social and economic development, and once again opened my understanding of the mainland. After that, he studied Teacher Pang's course for two consecutive years, and whenever he attended classes and read the teaching materials and literature specified by Teacher Pang, he could find that Teacher Pang was more pursuing his family and country feelings in addition to academics, because in the depth reading of Many of Mr. Pang's academic papers included "Zhongshan Thought and Chinese Model", "On Taiwan's Experience and China Model", and so on, to the academic monograph "The Epochal Significance of Sun Yat-sen's Thought"; Research Perspectives on National Development"

In particular, Teacher Pang's "The Significance of the Times of Sun Yat-sen's Thought;" In the preface to The Research Perspective on National Development, it is mentioned that:

"In 2011, many activities were held on both sides of the Taiwan Strait to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution, but they all talked more about the deeds of the Zhongshan Revolution and less about Sun Yat-sen's revolutionary thought. However, from the perspective of comparative research on national development, the author believes that after the Second World War, the factual evolution and theoretical deduction of national development show that Sun Yat-sen's thought not only has reference value for the development and construction of backward countries, but even has an enlightening effect on the exploration of the future of advanced countries, especially for the two sides of the strait. Therefore, the idea of exploring the significance of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's era from the perspective of national development research has arisen.

The first fruit of the foregoing thought is this big-hit book. Big topic, because both Sun Yat-sen's thought and the study of national development are such a deep and wide-ranging topic; Small works, because they deal with such a deep and wide range of topics in a limited space, can only stay at a relatively rough level, and cannot be sufficiently meticulous and in-depth. Sadly, this is only the beginning of a larger writing project, and the topics covered in the book will be discussed in more depth one by one in the future. I believe that from the perspective of national development research, combined with the experience and facts of the international community and the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, to confirm and expound the epochal significance of Sun Yat-sen's thought, it is an academic garden worth cultivating for a long time. ”

Because from the background of Mr. Pang's grandfather's participation in Dr. Sun Yat-sen's revolution and his father was born in the Whampoa Military Academy, in the pursuit of academic and life paths, Mr. Pang can be said to be a loyal believer in Dr. Sun Yat-sen's ideological concepts in this life, and hopes that through the results of his own research, he hopes to expound the significance of the times of carrying forward Sun Yat-sen's thought through the perspective of national development. Today's cross-strait Chinese's research on Sun Yat-sen's thought is really worth digging deep and constantly improving, but unfortunately, today's Taiwan society has long abandoned Sun Yat-sen's thought, so I often talk to my own relatives and friends in Taiwan about the "Industrial Plan" and "Founding Strategy" written by Dr. Sun Yat-sen for our development in China, and the two principles of planning are made, and today's Chinese mainland have been fully practiced and even continuously optimized and surpassed. Therefore, every time I talked to Teacher Pang in class about the development of the mainland over the years, it is impossible for Taiwan to leave the mainland and the cross-strait economy and trade must be more deeply integrated, but in the end, when I talked about Taiwan's current desire to continuously decouple from the mainland, the teacher finally only smiled helplessly.

Now that the Si people have passed away, our most beloved teacher Pang Jianguo has left us, I would like to commemorate the teacher with this article, thank you Teacher Pang for giving me advice and guidance on the road of academic learning in my life, there are many words in my heart that I want to continue to write through words, and although the time to learn with Teacher Pang is short, I will never forget, because this teacher Pang who is always gentle and elegant and spares no effort to take care of students will always be in the hearts of our students, especially teacher Pang's kind smile.
