Robinho will be on the Interpol wanted list and could be extradited to Italy

This week, the Italian court announced that Robinho was sentenced to nine years in prison for rape. Brazil's "Global Sports" revealed that Robinho may be arrested by Interpol and extradited to Italy.

Brazilian striker Robinho gang-raped a 23-year-old woman with friends at a local Milan nightclub while playing for Milan in 2013. This week an Italian court convicted Robinho of a crime and sentenced him to 9 years in prison after years of investigative trials. However, Robinho currently lives in Brazil, and there is no extradition treaty between Brazil and Italy, so Italy cannot forcibly bring Robinho back to serve his sentence.

But Robinho will be on Interpol's wanted list, so he will be extradited to Italy if he is one of Interpol's 195 signatories. At the same time, Stefano Opirio, director of the Department of International Relations and Judicial Cooperation of the Italian Ministry of Justice, told Global Sports that there is still hope to see Robinho receive a just punishment, and Italy will ask the Brazilian authorities to arrest Robinho and let Robinho serve his sentence in Brazilian prisons.
