On January 21, Beijing time, the African Cup of Nations group stage was all over, and the round of 16 was born! Defending champions Algeria are out, the quarter-final matchup is set, and Côte d'Ivoire will stage a strong dialogue with Egypt led by Salah.
Promotion rules
This year's Africa Cup of Nations has a total of 24 teams, divided into six groups of four teams each. The top two in the group directly advanced to the round of 16, and the third place in the four best groups will also qualify.
Advance to the team
In Group A, Cameroon won the top spot with three wins, while Burkina Faso was second with four points.
In Group B, Senegal finished first with 1 win, 2 draws and 5 points, while Guinea finished second with 4 points.
In Group C, Morocco finished first with 7 points from 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss, while Gabon finished second in the group with 5 points from 1 win, 2 draws.
Group D, Nigeria scored 9 points from 3 wins and qualified strongly. Salah's Egypt scored six points from 2 wins and 1 defeat to advance to the second place in the group.
In Group E, Côte d'Ivoire won 2 wins and 1 draw and accumulated 7 points, the first place qualified, Equatorial Guinea 2 wins and 1 loss with 6 points, the second place in the group, the defending champion Algeria 1 draw and 2 losses, out of the bottom.
In Group F, Mali and Guinea both won 2 and drew 1 to advance with 7 points.
In the third ranking of the group, the goal difference was compared in the same point situation, Cape Verde in Group A, Malawi in Group B were all 4 points, Tunisia in Group F and Comoros in Group C were all 3 points, and finally reached the round of 16.
